Vault Bound

Chapter 8

The sound of thunderous paws slammed the ground as he pushed himself to run faster. His lungs burned with agony struggling to get enough oxygen to supply his body. He pumped his legs faster dodging the dead trees and broken boulders. He looked to his right to see His father, Zeus, flanking his right side and on the left Raven was there flanking him. She looked severely pissed, but she had a good reason. He could hear the rest of the pack behind him running at a fast pace as they followed their leader, Acer.

You are probably wondering how they got in this situation to begin with, well let's rewind to 24 hours before this very moment.

24 Hours Earlier ~

Acer nudged Lyla and got down into a bow pose wanting to play with the female. He was attempting to regain her trust. She smiled sadly and got up walking away from him. He whined sadly and sighed. Zuma his mother came and nudged her son. "Don't give up on her. She's hurt and she still has every reason to be upset. She's scared you are going to use her just to become alpha." She explained knowing exactly what the female feared. Acer shook his head furiously "I would never use her like that. I love her mom.." he trailed off looking down his ears flipping down sadly. Zuma used her snout to life his head up. "I know that, but does Lyla know that?" The young male pondered thinking. He thought she knew that he loved her... but did she really? "Thanks mom" he nuzzled his mother as a sympathetic gesture. Just as he was about to take off toward the female in whom he adored. He heard a scream and the sound of paws taking off in the distance.

"LYLA!" Acer roared in anger and took off toward the area where Lyla had resided and all that was left there were a few blood spots. He snarled as his body shook with rage. Nobody takes his female. Nobody. Just as he was about to take off in the direction in which he heard them take off toward he stopped hearing someone come running up behind him. "Acer..." it was Raven. She seemed scared he immediately sniffed for his pup, but caught no scent of her. "Where is she Raven!?" He snarled getting up in her face as he searched her eyes for the answer, but came up empty.

"Lyla offered to take Luna while I freshened up, and I gratefully agreed. I couldn't have known she would be taken! Acer you have to find you just have too I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to her I-" she was cut off by a sob racking her body. The rest of the pack finally came over to the area as they were quickly filled in on what happened. "We have to go after them father!" He snapped at his father angrily. Who growled at his son who kept trying to challenge his position. "We do son, but we need to plan this out and think logically. You clearly can't think clear right now. We can't just rush into the situation blind son. We will get slaughtered, and I'm sure you wish to live another day to see your daughter grow up." Acer sighed in defeat his father was right. They needed to make a plan to save the females. No matter how much he just wanted to rush in there and save them by force. He couldn't.

"You're right. We need to come up with a plan quickly." Everyone nodded in agreement and began to plan

"We will run as a pack trailing their scent to where it was last left off. We will then spilt into groups of two at least and find leads to where they could be hiding. If you come upon anyone you are to signal immediately. Everyone understand?" Acer was the one giving the plan he had so cleverly came up with. He nodded and just as he was about to turn and begin his father stopped him. "I know it's not the best scenario for this but I'm officially stepping down as Alpha, and once you get your female back you will rule until pups of your own era grow and take over. " Acer was shocked as he mouth was wide open he nodded in a thank you and could practically feel the power surging through him. He took off following the scent his pack in tow.

Whenever took Lyla & Luna we're going to pay. They have no idea what they have coming to them.
