Sana…sana…sana….I am keeping my fingers crossed.

            “What do you want?”

Oo nga pala. Andito nga pala si Sean. So, umayos ka Artemis, wag kang maarte.  This is the moment you have been waiting for diba.

“Ahmmm…I think, I would like to have a choco chip cookies.”

            “Ok, request is granted.”

He walked away and towards the store. I sat on the bench in front of it. Haaay, is this really happening?

I am not sports – minded. That’s the reason why I never joined any sports – oriented activity in college. Kung kailangan kong magparticipate during programs or intramurals, I would opt for the cheering squad or dancing. I don’t know how to make a service in volleyball. I don’t know how badminton is scored.

I have known Sean Gonzales all my life. He lives a few blocks away from our house. Yung lola nya, teacher ko nung elementary. But we have never been schoolmates. Nevertheless, my family and his know each other.  Friends yung mothers namin. Kami lang dalawa in our respective families ang civil towards one another. Hindi kami close. We don’t even look at each other. In short, we are not even friends. Hahahaha…

But for all I know, I noticed him so suddenly when I was a newly hired personnel in  an advertising company in our place. I was sitting in our garden set while busy downloading some forms for our advertising firm. Hindi ko alam how I might have looked like during that time. But I can feel that it is a mess. My hair is haphazardly pulled up, a pencil tucked behind my ears (Kubrador ang peg teh?), eyeglasses a little lopsided. Haaay…a workaholic image of mine. I would have wanted to do some stretching that time. So I let out a long and luxurious yawn while stretching my arms. Right there and then, I saw him passing by. I think, he stopped or did I just imagined that? There was that awkward look in his face. It was like he’s thinking if he would smile at me or just walk on. He chose the latter. Darn! Then, I just found myself realizing that the little boy I have known back when I was 8 had grown to be a hunk…isang gwapo at mabangong hunk. Starting that day, I made it a point to study his moves.

            “Here’s your cookie.,,and soda.”

Riiiiiiiiinnnnnnng. Parang alarm ang boses nya. I was snapped out of my dreamlike state.

            “Thanks.” I tried to say.

            “So, how’s work?” sabi nya.

How did he know? As I have said, we are not close.

“I saw your notes in fb. I have read them all.” He continued.

Weh? Di nga? Baliw ata to. Eh ni hindi nga kami friends sa fb eh…Maybe he had sensed my apprehensions about what he had just said so he continued…
