Derry, Maine

3rd person

As Eddie walked home he turned onto one of the most hated and feared streets in Derry. Neibolt street. The only thing he didn't want to do is look at the house. The infamous house, not to be mentioned by name. It was ran down, some people say it has a well in the basement, some believed that, others didn't, the maps clearly indicated that it had a well, but just like everything else, people just neglect the facts. Eddie never knew what side to pick. So he just stayed neutral. Neibolt wasn't too far from his house, only a few blocks. He walked past the house and looked at it. He remembered that was the opposite of what he wanted to do. All he wanted was to get home as fast as possible.

Eddie POV

I was walking down the street, playing the hand flute with my hands. I looked to the right and saw the Neibolt house. Damn. I really didn't want to look at it. I tried to focus on the street ahead of me but I kept turning to the house. I took my hands away from my mouth and put them at my sides. I looked away from the house and my watch started beeping. Just my luck, right in front of the Neibolt house. I looked down and opened my fanny pack, just as I was unzipping it, I heard a door creak open. I looked at the Neibolt house and saw the door had opened. I froze with the pill in my hand. I heard a faint voice say "Eddie, what are you looking for?" I went to put the pill back in the box that it came from, and dropped it. All my pills rattled on the ground. I whispered to myself "Fuck, my mom's gonna fucking flip." I was picking them up as fast as I possibly could. I went to reach for the last one when I saw a bandaged hand pick it up, and hold it to my face, I looked past the pill at the person's face. He moved closer to me and asked "Do you think this will help me, Eddie?" His face was all mangled, he was missing a nose, his eyes were messed up. I fell back and started pulling myself away from him. He must've been a leper. I kept moving backwards and it just kept following me. I didn't even realize it but I was in the Neibolt house's front yard. I saw the gate out of my peripheral vision and stood up. I started running past the houses right side. I tripped on a piece of pipe that was sticking out of the ground. I rolled over myself and got up. I looked back and saw the leper pursuing me.  I picked up my speed and reached a fence. I stopped and turned around screaming. No leper, huh? I looked further to the left and saw an upside down triangle made out of balloons and a person standing behind it, hiding their head. I turned to face it still panting. The balloons started floating up. There was a clown hiding behind the balloons with a very serious expression painted on his face. He saw me and his expression changed to a creepy ass smile. Scared was an understatement. I thought it was a John Wayne Gacy copycat, an extreme number of thoughts crossed my head. What was he going to do? Why was he doing this? How do I get out? Until he asked me "Where ya going, Eds?" and followed it with "If you lived here, you'd be home by now." The previous serious expression flushed over his face again. I had nothing to say, fear paralyzed me. He kept talking. "Come join the clown, Eds." Nobody called me that other than my dad. How did he know? He just kept going, "you'll float down here. We all float down here. Yes, we do." He started laughing. I started screaming. I found a hole in the fence and started crawling through, I turned around and he was gone and the balloons were popping. I started calming down. I got up and started running.

Beverly walked into her room, setting her backpack on her bed and sitting next to it. She unzipped it and an envelop along with a post card opened up. She picked both up and examined them. The envelope had her name on it, and the postcard had a poem on the back, she walked into the bathroom and closed the door behind her, locking it. She  sat in her bathtub with her feet hanging out. She whispered the poem to herself,

"Your hair is winter fire

January Embers

My heart burns there, too"
