1st day of summer

Derry, Maine

Bev POV

(Y/N) was driving me home, we were at a stop light when I glanced at him and noticed him looking at me. I asked him what he was looking at. I couldn't believe what I heard from him, "Absolute Beauty." came out of his mouth just as we pulled up to my driveway. I couldn't hold back my blush, I opened the door of the car and got out, grabbing my bag and looking back at him. God, he looks good, I waved to him. I turned around and a frown appeared on my face. My dad. I hated him. He talks to me like I'm a 4 year old. He does other things that I don't want to talk about. I sighed and walked into my house. Hoping I wouldn't see him. The door closed with a loud creak. I walked 2 steps in and I already heard the TV, there was hope that he was sleeping. I looked into the first doorway. The living room, the TV was playing but my dad wasn't there. I walked past the doorway, My footsteps louder then before. I reached the second door and nearly bumped into my dad. "Hi daddy." I fucking hate him. "What do you got there?" I didn't want to tell him. I tried to be vague "Just somethings." He grabbed the bag from my hand. He opened it and a weird, creepy smile came across his face. I didn't like it, actually I didn't like him. He caressed my head and smelled my hair. He started running his hands through my hair. "Your still my little girl, right?" he asked me. "Yes daddy." I couldn't look him in the eyes. Ever since mom died he's been like this. I walked into my room.  I thought about doing something rebellious.

Beverly couldn't do it.  She was in  her bathroom, standing over the sink. Tears flowing down her face. Scissors sitting on the sink. She reached for the scissors, put her fingers in the scissor's holes. Tears kept coming, she grabbed a handful of hair and started cutting.  She started getting angry. At everyone, her dad, Greta, the Cashier, anyone who ever wronged her. She started cutting faster, blinded by her anger. She stopped cutting, and looked into the mirror. Disbelief painted her face

2nd day of summer

Derry, Maine

3rd Person

(Y/N) stayed up almost all night, slaving over the drawing of Beverly. He only got an hour and a half of sleep but he has a beautiful picture of Beverly, he was satisfied nevertheless. He remembered he'd asked everyone if they wanted to go to the barrens. It took him a few minutes to really wake up. But once he was fully sobered up, he changed into his favorite clothes and grabbed an extra pair of shorts, and threw it in his backpack. He also grabbed a post card from the famous city, New York, New York. Everyone wanted to go there from Derry, but only a few could get a good job and be able to afford an apartment, his dad was one of those people, a week after the divorce, he packed up and left without saying a word to his young son. He sent the postcard, a week after he got to New York. He didn't really care that it was from his dad. He wanted to give it to Beverly. He packed his bag and pulled his bike from his garage, turned his Walkman on and started pedaling.  He was normally pretty fast on his bike, nobody has an official count but some say he can bike a whole mile in a minute and a half. That was complete lie. He was fast but not that fast. The quarry was not too far from his house.  A 15 minute walk for slow people. He turned on the street and say Beverly walking down the sidewalk towards the quarry. He sped up to catch her. He noticed something different, something with her hair.

(Y/N) POV

I saw Beverly walking down the street and I started pedaling to catch up to her. I noticed something was different about her. Her hair looked different then yesterday. It looked shorter. It made her look even cuter. Just seeing her gave me a feeling, a feeling I couldn't describe even if I really tried. I never felt it until I met Beverly. I pulled up next to her and stopped. She looked at me with a sad look. Something was wrong. I asked her about it but she said "Nothing."  I got of my bike and looked her in the eyes, "If something's wrong, you can tell me." She stood firm and held her ground saying "Nothing is wrong, (Y/N)." I took her word and switched the conversation to her hair. "I like the hair." She looked at the ground, I could see a blush on her cheeks. A quick "Thanks." was her response. As we came up to  the quarry, we say a pile of bikes. I tossed mine over with the rest. We walked into a small area filled with trees between the street and quarry. I went to grab my shorts from my backpack until I heard "What are doing (Y/N)?" I responded "I'm changing." I pulled my shorts out. I looked at her and saw a small blush. I pulled my shorts down and replaced them the extra pair. I looked up towards her and saw her peeking through her hand. I'm gonna be honest and say, the attention felt good. We kept walking until we saw the other 4 on the cliff spitting. Me and Beverly heard Richie nervously ask "Alright, who's first?" "I'll go." I hear from my left, I turn to see Beverly taking her dress off. She runs straight to the edge and jumped. Everyone stood in awe. That was the moment I realized I was in love. The moment I realized she had more confidence then all 5 of us combined.  The moment I realized what that feeling Is, its love. I put my feelings to the side and ran through the other guys and jumped in.
