Piper's Pov
The following weeks with staying with our cousins had blown by faster then I had liked. I mainly stayed up in the cabin house with them, hunting and all to keep my thirst intact because before I knew it I was back home getting whiffs of Bella's scent from miles away.I found myself always watching her from a distance. I found her normal looking but beautiful for some reason. She was quite a little clumsy thing but it made her cute.
"Your thoughts are so loud." Edward joked watching me from across the lunch table and I moved my gaze away from staring at Bella intensely that she wasn't even noticing.
"Hush," I grumbled finding myself becoming flustered very quickly and I didn't like it. "You have to talk to her at some point," Edward told me with a playful grin on his face and I sank back in my chair.
Jace, had his head laying on Edward's shoulder looking bored. "Obviously she wants you to talk to her the whole time you were gone it was like she was waiting for you to be with us?" He explained and just from hearing that it made me grow even more flustered by the minute.
I flicked my eyes back over to watch Bella a small smile making its way across my face as I heard Alice, Jasper, Emmett, and Rosalie start to tease me loudly making me huff whining out it felt good to be back again. For the most part, I thought.

Finally, the best class of the day rolled by. The long day still dragging on. I had my head laying on the desk gazing out the large window watching the rain trickle-down.I was playing with loose strands of my hair and I felt my body stiffen as I smelled her alluring scent hit me quick and fast but I kept my head pressed on the desk. "You can do this Piper, "I mumbled to myself fluttering my eyes.
I felt Bella sit beside me and I carefully lifted my head up pulling my hair back flicking my eyes to meet hers hearing her gasp quietly a tiny blush on her face as she tucked at the edge of the sleeves on her shirt.
"You're Bella aren't you?" I asked her softly to not startled her at all-seeing her turning around to face me.
"Yeah, I am." She mumbled quietly I cracked a small smile. "I'm Piper Cullen, I'm sorry that I haven't been here for a few weeks, I was dealing with some issues." I strained out to find the right words blinking rubbing my cheeks.
"Don't even worry about it." She responded still gazing at me with a small smile looking down at her notebook. At first, I wasn't too sure how to start a conversation with her she was like a shy butterfly.
It was until our teacher brought over a little project for us to work on. "How are you liking Forks?" I asked her gently sliding the microscope back over to her after naming off the different cells we saw.
"Well it's rainy, I don't really like the rain." She admitted to me. I scanned my eyes to at least try and read her again but yet again it wasn't working as the first time.
How come Edward doesn't have a hard time reading people I thought "it isn't so bad once you live here for a while, you start to enjoy it a little." I explained to her watching her smile.
"Says you." She joked and I chuckled a little stiffening my breathing but having more control then I did when I first met. Me and her talk continued until class ended when I offered to walk with her to class.
Of course, everyone was in shock that a cold girl like me was capable of making friends.
"So you moved away from your mom wasn't it hard to do?" I asked her my arms folding walking side by side with her as she looked up at me.
"Well my mom remarried and her husband likes to move around a lot so I wanted to stay with my dad." She explained to me nodding her head a bit at me.
"And now you're unhappy." I called out the both of us stopping right outside the office me leaning on the wall.
"No." She answered bluntly confusion laced around her face as she flicked her brown eyes to my gold ones.
"I'm sorry I'm just trying to figure you out," I whispered mumbling my apology. "Hey, do you wear contacts?" She asked confused and I tilt my head a bit biting at my lip.
"No why?" I questioned back still keeping my gaze "just your eyes were pitch black the last time I saw them, " she mumbled out her eyes still following me.
I breathed out a chuckle "maybe It was my hair getting on the way." I joked at her watching her nod her head. I leaned my full body off the wall when I noticed Rosalie was waiting for me at the end of the hall nodding her head at me.
"Alright well Bella I have to go but I promise will talk soon okay," I told her as she looked kinda disappointed at me before nodding gripping her backpack tighter.
"See you later Piper." She whispered I gave her one last small smile before walking off my thoughts running wild. My mate was something else.
