Chapter Ten

Piper's Pov
Honestly I didn't really think such a normal starting day could go to shit so quickly. But I had to keep calm, and keep cool and just relax the best I could. Bella should be okay as long as the nomads don't smell her scent and even myself I get distracted by her scent.

I kept my arm fully secured around her waist hoping to at least stop her from shaking. She was shaking like a leaf. I stared James straight in his evil red eyes, trying to at least read his mind. I could get a lot off his filthy mind, it was basic hunting humans and killing just for the fun of it. Victoria was the same as well. The only one with a semi normal mind was Laurent and even then his was strange too.

"Oh come on just one game." I pulled away from the thoughts and looked at Carlisle distressed face "Sure why not, two of our players were just about to leave." I kept having a heated stare down with James who just couldn't seem to keep his eyes away from me and Bella.

Even after everyone moved to get into the new teams he stated staring at me tilting his head like I was his pray. "Come on." I whispered to Bella pulling James away from his strange staring, I held Bella's waist more moving her across the field for just a small second till the wind blew by causing a ride of her hair to move exposing her neck.I

I didn't even think twice before I gently pushed Bella behind me getting in front of her before James could even move "Don't even think about touching her." I growled at him before he could even get close.

"I think it would be best if you leave. " Carlisle ordered. I kept my glare straight on James and all of them. It took a few minutes before Edward was ordering me to take Bella home and I didn't even argue I grabbed her hand pulling her with me back towards the area of the Jeep fast, helping her in before I hopped in myself quickly hitting the steering wheel in frustration almost breaking it.

"Fucking damn it." I snapped calming myself down I started the Jeep up at first ignoring all the questions Bella shot at me. "Piper what is going on!" She screamed at me.

"It was a mistake bringing you here today, those aren't vampires like us Bella, they feed off humans, James he's a tracker and he has your scent now. " I explained in the best easy way I could think of. "I briefly was able to absorb his power, he can track anything." I grumbled Bella's heart was pounding way too much I could hear every little thing.

"If he has my scent he can go after my dad, Piper you have to take me home." She demanded at me "I can't take you back home! Bella I don't think you understand his thoughts." I snapped back at her deeply.

"I can't just let my dad get hurt!" She shouted. "You aren't really leaving! You just need to pack some clothes while I come up with a plan." Bella was slightly annoying me but I held back any of my bad thoughts still driving on the soaked road.

"Alright Piper try and just relax, you are trying to use all your power at once." Jace told me sternly when he walked passed me in the garage. I rolled my eyes at him slightly before picking up one of Bella's jackets tossing one to Esme who caught it, and spoke.

"The last I checked he was heading east he didn't have the others with him, Esme I need you and Rosalie to wear these and mask Bella's scent." I tossed Rosalie one which she took but she was not happy about it.

"Why? What does she mean to me Piper?" She snapped out, I was already stressed as it was. But Carlisle pulled her aside to talk to her. I walked near Alice who was looking at me gently while I held the keys to our many many cars handing them to her.

"Please actually drive safe Alice." I told her sternly. "I will." She told me patting my cheeks pinching my cheeks, I sighed a little filled with so much stress before I carefully leaned on the window of the car were Bella was watching me closely.

"I'm sorry it wasn't too much of an ideal date Bella, but Jasper and Alice will keep you safe till you get to Jacksonville, don't do anything too crazy." I told her quietly, "What about you?" She whispered looking at me concerned, I leaned on the window more cupping her cheeks.

"Bella you are my life now okay? I'll do everything and anything to protect you okay." I told her, she placed her hands over mine and I have her a gentle kiss which she returned, "I'll see you soon." I told her once we parted ways from the kiss.

I leaned back tugging all my curls back so they rested back on my neck, watching both cars speed away, leaving me with Carlisle, Emmett, Edward and Jace. "Its gonna be alright Piper." Emmett reassured me rubbing the back of my back, I heaved out another heavy sigh.

"Knowing Bella... She's always reckless I love her but... Danger is something she always put herself into."
