Leaning up into a sitting position she took in her renewed form. Her skin soft and supple. Now her feet showed no signs of the life she had walked, or the heels she had worn. Looking further up her legs in amazement, she noticed her knees. Free of scars, no signs that her joints had once failed her. The rest of her body followed suit. Youthful, smooth, pearlescent and a perfect shape to her transformed figure. No need of glasses and her teeth were as white as her garment. Years of manicured and painted nails couldn't compare to how wonderful her hands looked and felt. She now had back the strength in them that she had when she raised her children. Memories of them flooded her mind.Glancing down at her left hand ring finger was a glowing band that wrapped around it. It reflected love from her marriage. Vibrations went through her body much like the energy the river had given to her. This time she felt it even deeper, she felt it in her soul. The vibration of pure love that encased her completely made her whole. Now transformed she could fully take in all the love given to her throughout her life.
Another breeze came by, engulfing her senses with delight. This time with the floral perfume that seemed to whisper her name.
As she sat there engulfed in the sweet perfume of pansies, she pondered on how sweet her name sounded. Never had her name been spoken so sweet before. There was a stillness that came over her body as tingles ran up and down her arms. At that moment she knew exactly who she was with the whisper of her name. No doubt ever again in her mind.
She was a child of God.
As she stood she felt the power of what it meant to be a child of God. It washed over her body much like a warm summer rain. Gently sending relaxation through her shoulders as her body delighted in something she had never sensed before. Gone were the moments of doubt, worry and fear. This heavenly rain cleansed and renewed her, much like a needed rain after a drought. For the first time she had her thirst quenched. Her body had gone through a drought that she had never known was there until she felt what it meant to live life one with God. The kingdom gave freely all the spiritual fulfillment she would ever need.
Her body would thirst no more.
As she delighted in this newfound feeling, soft whispers filled her ears. These were the thoughts and memories her loved ones had of her. Traveling far from Earth they turned to whispers once they reached her. Each memory sounding like the most beautiful lullaby she had ever heard. More beautiful than the songs she sang to her grandchildren as she rocked them to sleep. More warmth than tucking her children tightly into bed, bringing the covers far up around their shoulders.
As she pondered on these memories, peace traveled back to her family as she thought of them. This comfort showed up in many ways. When they smelled the scent of her perfume, a brush on their cheek, or for a split second when they can hear her faintly calling their name. Even the flicker of a light. These moments seemed to happen just when needed. God implanted a piece of her spirit in all their hearts until the day that they can embrace her again.
Feeling a sense of longing for her loved ones was impossible in Heaven. She had been here for years, only it felt like moments since she had arrived.
Far off in the distance shown a light that beamed with a radiance and a hue of golden yellow she couldn't describe. A rainbow gleamed off the opal pathway that ran beside the gentle river. It lead directly into the light.
The pathway illuminated a scene from her life with each floating step she took. Each step played back to her again as a movie, showing her moments she shared the love of God with another person. A warm light embraced her after each scene played out. The intensity grew stronger with every step she took allowing her to understand how connected we all are to each other.
As she grew closer to the light she witnessed what she had only imagined before in her dreams. What had been preached about in many sermons. She had made it to the pearly gates. With more grandeur than in her wildest imagination. What lay behind this door, that could be more glorious than what she had already experienced here?
As her hand reached for the angelic white gate, for the first time she felt like she wasn't the only one there. Every step she took on the pathway to the pearly gate was years down here on Earth that passed by. It felt like a blink of an eye to her angelic being. Before she reached for the gate so adorned with jewels and gems of every color she glanced behind her. As radiant as the gate, it took her breath away.
Each prayer she ever prayed about her family being with her in Heaven, God heard her. They were all there behind her, each and every one. She had spent years not knowing, but she was waiting for her family by the river and as she walked the gleaming pathway.
God had orchestrated everyone's life out to his timeline. He gave each one the grace that only he can give. Every person in the family having their own heavenly experience before they reached the pearly gates. He timed everything out according to his will, no questions needed to be answered.
Walking through those pearly gates seemed more triumphant than ever. Ushered into Heaven's gate as a family. A more glorious embrace than they could have even imagined.....
Their eternal life had begun, as one.
