I STUCK BEHIND TODOROKI AS WE WALKED INTO THE GIANT OFFICE. I hid a small frown, noticing that this one room was pretty much the same size of my apartment. I saw the three other figures turn around to see us enter. A brown haired girl gave a smile, her rosy red cheeks lighting up.
"Eycho. These are my associates." He motioned to each on was he introduced them. "This is Iida Tenya, Midoriya Izuku and Uraraka Ochako." They each gave a smile and a nod towards me as they were introduced. I returned a nod to them.
"Nice to meet you all, I'm Eycho Y/N, but please call me Y/N." I glanced at Todoroki and gave him a nod, telling him to also call me by my first name. I looked at them all, studying them subtly.
The first male was tall and seemed to be well built. He had navy hair with his dark blue eyes framed by glasses. His suit was a full piece with a dark blue vest and blue tie underneath. I had never seen a man with dark blue shoes, but he pulled it off.
The next was a much smaller male with green curly lockes and wide, vibrant green eyes. He wore a green vest and a black under shirt with the sleeves rolled up. He also wore green shoes, another weird combination that he nailed.
The girl had a friendly and bubbly aura about her. She was just short of the green males height and had brown hair that shaped her heart shaped face. Her brown eyes were bright and wore a pink and red dress that revealed her shoulder blades.
"Now, the topic I've brought you here for." Todoroki swiftly left my side and walked behind the table, sitting down at the large leather chair. The others turned around and sat down at the table on three other seats. Except one, Iida I believe it was. He stood valiantly by the spare seat next to his. I raised an eyebrow as he motioned for me to sit down. I gave a nod and a smile to the male as I sat down.
"Please, explain what occurred between you and Bakugou. He wouldn't have stormed into that bar as upset as he was without a reason. And I believe you know." Todoroki starts, leaning forwards. I gave a half hearted chuckle.
"Well, I guess I have to start from the very beginning, don't I?" A nod. "I was working, casual stuff, and then him and his gang came to the front bar where I was working. I served them and everything was fine." I saw Todoroki hold up a finger.
"Who was he with?" His voice was calm and his eyes were calculating.
"Four other people. There was a spiky redhead, a guy with weird elbows, a flirty blonde and a pink girl with horns. Do you know them?" I ask, unsure of the purpose behind the question. I saw Uraraka give a nod besides me.
"Yep! We all know eachother, not on the best of terms, but we know eachother nonetheless." She gave a grin. I nodded as I turned to Todoroki. He crossed his arms over his chest while leaning back and nodding, as if encouraging me to continue.
"Ah right, well, after my shift I found the pink girl off her face out near the road. I pulled her aside and took her home. She exchanged numbers with me and I left. I didn't expect for her to ring the next day however. So, she rang and asked me to come over to her place. I decided to go, having nothing else to do and meet her friends living there." I gave a frown, unconsciously rubbing my left ear. "I don't know what I did to aggravate him, but he set off an explosion in my left ear, making me go deaf in that ear for awhile." I let go of my ear, and leaned back, hands on my knees. "I may have slapped him and stormed out." I gave a grimace, remembering the encounter. I saw the curly haired man looked around Uraraka to give me a horrified look.
"That... explains the aggravation. Are your ears okay?" He asks. I gave a nod.
"Much better, thanks." I tilted my head a little, narrowing my look at the mismatched man. "Why... did you want to know all of this?" I ask suspiciously. He gave an audible sigh, leaning back into the chair.
"His gang and some other criminals have been trespassing on our territory. We would like to... interfere with their plans as quickly as possible." I was taken aback from the explanation.
People trespassing on Todoroki ground? Are they insane? The methods of dealing with trespassers and opposing criminal groups were normally resolved with heavy body bags. Many, heavy body bags. Bakugou seemed crazy enough to do it actually. But why Todoroki's territory? Surely he must have lost some brain cells when I bitch slapped him.
"I have a proposition for you, Y/N." I snapped out of my thoughts and looked up to Todoroki. "Your quirk, though it's not powerful, it's useful. You could be a good asset to us. If you join us, I can guarantee protection, especially against Bakugou and his gang." I blinked my eyes, not believing what I was being told. I shook my head, my gaze downcast.
"I'm sorry, but I can't accept."
I had promised myself that I wouldn't get into a life of crime, not that I would want to anyways. Blood was always spilled, the smoke of cigars was always so strong, and the regret of murder would overwhelm me. Don't get me wrong, extra money would be nice, but the method of gaining said money would eat me alive. I wanted to work for my money honestly, even if it was a small amount.
I wanted to stay pure in this corrupted world, on my own accord.
I risked a glance up to see Todoroki silently gazing at me with an unreadable expression.
"Are... are you sure? We wouldn't make you kill anyone or anything of the sort." I turned to see Uraraka giving me a hopeful smile. I gave a soft chuckle as I shook my head.
"I'm sure. Thank you for the off-"
"Why?" I glanced at Todoroki to see him leaning forwards, purely focused on me. I saw Iida shake his head by my side.
"Todoroki, I'm sure she has her reasons." He huffed, crossing his arms over his chest. Todoroki didn't spare him a glance at his statement. I gave a nervous chuckle.
"Well, I just don't want to live a life of crime. It's nothing against you, it's just, I made a promise that I intend to keep." I state plainly, looking him straight in the eyes. I bet he's never been told 'no' before. "Is... that all you wanted to talk about?" I ask, giving a small smile. He nods dismissively.
"For now. Thank you for joining us. It's quite late, so you should go rest." He concluded, standing up. I saw the others stand up along with him. I stood and gave a nod to Todoroki and a wave to the others as I walked away.
"It was nice to meet you all. See you around." I turn back around, heading to the elevator. I push the button and hear the sound of shoes running towards me. I glanced to my side to see Uraraka bouncing up and down with her phone in her hand.
"Could we swap numbers? It would be great to keep in touch." She asked, giving a warm smile. I gave a nod as I fished out my phone and held it up to her so she could copy down my number. She quickly typed on her phone and gave a thumbs up. "Thanks! Get home safe Y/N!" She gave me a wide smile before leaving me to get into the lift. I waved at the men as the lift doors closed, putting my hood back on. The doors closed and I saw them no more.
↯
The men watched her as the elevator doors closed. Iida gave a sigh, eyes still glued to the door.
"You won't let her go that easily, won't you Todoroki?" He mumbled, a small frown on his features. He didn't need to look to know that the male had a slight smile. He nodded in response.
"You are correct. Keep an eye out for her, she could be valuable." The dark blue male gave a glance at the mismatched man, readjusting his glasses.
