The Faceless Forest

They needed to try a different route redirect themselves forwards in the easiest way possible and the hardest way if necessary. They would test chemicals and test plants and maybe even animals but all they knew was that they needed a different approach than what they had done before. They could even try to rally up survivors along the way, but not making the group to big but big enough.

All the hopes and dreams of a young child's mind wiped away because of things like these that's why they needed to be stopped and by a new approach, their last approach seemed to not work because seemly it had happened again but quicker this time almost like they were evolving but not quite.

When the group of friends first walked out they were taken aback, it looked like nothing had happened the birds were still chirping it all seemed happy, the only thing that would throw you off was the air, it was smokey but that would be the only problem.

The sunlight felt good against Zoey's skin after being inside for almost 24 hours, she felt happy or content, these emotions flew by like a bird when she saw the first faceless creature in almost 2 years except you wouldn't really be calling it faceless.

They had evolved, their small mouth had gotten bigger with more sharp teeth, their claws had gotten sharper and most of all they had the slightest of eyes, which meant they could see.

One of them turned around and spotted them standing there like statues it took that chance to slowly come closer, lucky the friends had spotted the creature before it pounced like a cat and they had ran.

They ran every which way, all the directions hoping that they wouldn't meet any on their flee of escape.

After 15 minutes they decided that it was safe to come back and meet up together, Emily came back with some scratches and bruises on her face and arms, so had Ethan, Zoey had came back with big large bruises on her arms and legs, then the others seemed just fine but really felt like emotional wrecks, they didn't want it to happen and especially in twice 5 years, nobody could really handle it anymore mentally and physically.

The group walked and talked just as if it were a normal school day and they were walking home from school, but everyone knew that it wasn't even when they so desperately wanted to believe it was.

They wanted to decide where to stay for the night and then they could move on from there, Emily had suggested the supermarket they had stayed at the last time Ethan suggested the gas station they also stayed at the last time, nobody really suggested houses or malls.

Zoey decided that if they all couldn't decide then they should just grab the supplies they needed and get out moving on to the next place until they find a good enough place to stay. So that's what they did, they started with the supermarket, then a nearby hospital, then they found a abandoned police station so they decided to check it out and they had found a bunch of weapons that could be useful. But they eventually decided that they wanted to stay at the hospital because it was the only one who really had any sort of bed and plus it had medical equipment in case of emergency.

The night it was pretty peaceful until around 12:00,that's when you started to hear sounds outside that would wake you up and then not stop letting you to fully wake up, then wanting to wake everyone else up because you wouldn't want to be alone.

That night nobody got a good sleep like the night before, all they did was toss and turn roll over fall into a light sleep for 30 minutes , toss turn, so on so on, everybody was tired and maybe that was a good sign or it could have been a bad sign nobody really knows.

In the morning everyone seemed grump to an extent, like if the person could function on little sleep they were fine but if not they turned grumpy.

"So what are we going to do?" Zoey asked with a yawn

"I don't really know, we need to save the world and all but I don't think it has to be today," Zach said with a grin

"Well we can't really stay here," Emily said wiping sleep from her eyes

"I agree with Emily," Josh retorted, looking over towards Emily

"Ok then, it's settled, we will be leaving today." Zoey said

"Ok," the rest of the group said, they were almost heading out the door when Emily stopped causing them to bump into her,

"Oh sorry guys, but what are we going to do once we get outside?"

"I have a idea,"Zoey said looking towards Emily
