Tomboys are frowned upon especially in school. Tomboy Tillie they call me. My ma and pa died a year ago, I live on my own on the farm in Virginia City. I own a pistol, I can fight, do double duty meaning both women and men's work. I do get lonely, Pa was friends with the Cartwright boys who own a ranch called the Ponderosa, they check up on me every now and again. They always ask me if I'm sure I don't wanna stay at the Ponderosa but I'm seventeen, I'm old enough to be on my own.
School can sometimes be a pain in my buttocks. I love to learn but I would get teased. Two of the most important highlights of school is my friend Samantha, she's my best friend, at recess I would sit under a tree and talk with her. The second highlight is my secret crush, Billy Burgess, a lady killing smirk, lovely hazel eyes. God darn what a gorgeous thing- sorry, on with my story.
