Karwa Chauth

Everyone is at Naina's mansion to celebrate Karwa Chauth. She checks the time, and gets up from the bed leaving Sameer alone. All the women come downstairs, Vishaka, Mom, Pandit's Mom and Munna's mom are cooking together. All of them give thier daughter in laws the sargi, and spend time eating and drinking together.

Naina: Pehli baar hum sab fast karenghe apne pati kay liye.

Swati: Mein toh bahaut excited hoon

Preeti: Kitna mazza anewala hai, par we have to wait till the moon comes out.

Naina: Muhjhe koi problem nahi hai

After they have ate and drank, Preeti, Naina and Swati wash the dishes. Once they have done, they go back to sleep. Sameer is awake, Naina comes back in, and cuddles with him.

Sameer: Mein bhi kuch nahi khaungha.

Naina: Sameer only married women can keep this fast for thier husband's long life.

Sameer: Toh kya huwa, tum meri biwi ho, and I will also fast for your long life.

Naina: Atcha really you will do that for me, toh tumhe sargi kaana paregha?

Sameer has the sargi which Naina has got for him. He starts to eat it, and they both fall asleep. It is the next morning, the men are having breakfast except Sameer. Pandit and Munna are looking at him strangely.

Munna: Sameer tum kyun nahi kaarehe ho?

Sameer: Muhjhe bhook nahi hai.

Naina, Swati and Preeti are dressed in red sarees looking very traditional, and beautiful. Sameer, Munna and Pandit become mesmorised just by looking at them.

Preeti: Tum log moo band karo warna makhi ghoos jaayghe?

Swati: Chalo na, humme mehendi lagani hai.

Naina becomes overwhelmed that Sameer is fasting for her. He makes a pout, and she nods her head to tell him everything will be fine. They all leave from there, and go to the other side of the mansion where all the women are waiting for them. They sit down, and to start to apply henna, when Sameer comes in.

Vishaka: Sameer tum yaha pay kya karehe ho?

Sameer: Kuch nahi, muhjhe Naina say baat karni hai.

Swati: Jijaji tora intizaar karna paregha, wo kya haina we are putting henna on?

Sameer: Okay I'm going.

When no one is looking, Naina hides a mehendi cone, makes an excuse up, and finds Sameer waiting outside of the room.

Sameer: Yeh gifts tumhare liye hai.

Naina: Aww thank you, par tumme bhi Mehendi lagana paregha

Sameer: Muhjhe manzoor hai

Naina starts to apply mehendi on his hand when no one can see them. He finds it ticklish, but does not laugh. He is just staring at his Naina peacefully. Once she is finished she goes from there leaving Sameer to look at his hand.

Sameer: Yeh bahaut khoobsurat

Pandit: Kya khoobsurat hai

Sameer: Kuch nahi. I was just saying it like that

Munna: Subbah say dehkraha hoon tum ajeeb behave karehe ho, your hiding something from us?

Sameer: Mein bhi vrat rakraha hoon Naina kay liye.

Pandit: Oh ho kya baat hai bhai, waise bhi hum bhi rakrahe hai, dehko we have henna on our hands as well.

Sameer: But you both were eating right?

Munna: We were but then we spat it out, when no one was looking.

Preeti, Swati and Naina come out of the room talking when they see Munna, Pandit and Sameer standing in front of them. They are blocking thier way.

Preeti: Kya hai yeh sab humme jaane dow na please?

Pandit: Please humse baat karlona?

Swati: Kya baat karni hai, we need to go to the pooja as well, and you all need to get changed as well?

Munna: Swati, poora mood karaab karliya, can we not talk to you at all?

Naina: Sabr ka phaal meeta hota hai, tora intizaar karlo hamere bina?

When Munna, Pandit and Sameer are not looking, Swati, Preeti and Naina give them a kiss on the cheek, and runs away from there leaving them astounded. The girls arrive at the pooja where all the women are sat in a circle making the abayas go round. Once that is done, Preeti, Swati and Naina come outside having fun, and enjoying the festival.

Swati: Kitna mazza aaraha hai, we just need to wait for the moon to come out.

Naina: When will it come out though?

All the men come outside, the girls see the boys coming towards them, they are looking very handsome.

After the song, the moon has come out, Naina tells everyone that they can break the fast. All the couples come together, the women take the sieve, and look towards the moon, they bring it down to thier husbands. By taking the water pot, they pour it. Sameer, Munna and Pandit feed thier wives with water and some sweets. They are about to take their blessings when they hold them up again. Sameer, Munna and Pandit also break thier fast.

Sameer: This day was very long

Pandit: Ab hum khaana kayenghe

All of the family sit down to eat feeding one another. Naina actually enjoyed this fast, she has now learnt most of the hindu rituals.

Naina: Tauji ab toh koi shikiyat nahi haina? Yaad hai jab apne kaha tha ki mein kuch nahi karsakti hoon, na ghar hai, paisa hai, I won't be able to learn anything, yeh sab chumantar hogaya?

Tauji: I'm really sorry Naina, at that time I judged you a lot, it was really shocking to know about all of this that you were brought up in an oprhanage.

Naina: It's okay I forgave you a long time ago.
