8 Years Later ~
"Y/N I'm not gonna ask you to get up again!"
"Alright I'm up!"

I sat up. [ I lived with Riza now. Roy and Riza were basically my parents now. I was interested in alchemy. I wanted to learn flame alchemy. But Roy would never let me learn. Riza never talked about it. ]

I walked into the kitchen. I bent down feeding Baxter, he was an old dog now. But he was still strong and full of life. I bent down and rubbed the top of his head.

"The Colonel and I might be a little late tonight. There's a lot going on right now."

"Can I come?" She looked up at me slowly, considering it.

"I guess, but hurry and get ready. I'm already late." I jumped up running to my room, Baxter followed jumping. I looked down at him sadly. Normally I just stayed home with him or we walked around town.

"Riza! Can I bring Baxter?"

"Sure just hurry up and get dressed."

-

Riza in a hurry ran up the stairs into the building. I stayed back looking up at the big Ametris flag hanging down.

"Damn it Al!" I turned around as the Fullmetal Alchemist and his brother Alphonse walked past me. "Why'd he have to go and call me little?!"

I stifled a laugh.

I jogged up the steps. I walked down the hallways, Baxter following me. I turned into the break room. Jean Havoc and Roy were in there. Havoc is flirt, and to annoy Roy he began to flirt with me. It was innocent. He obviously was screwing around. So I flirted back in attempt to work up Roy.

Roy only grabbed Havoc by the arm and threw him against the wall, Havoc held his hands up in defense. Pleading truce. I bent over laughing.

"You're next kid!" Roy turned, pointing a finger at me. I held my hands up in the same way.

"Um actually Roy can I talk to you?" He gestured me to follow him and we walked into his office. Riza was by a shelf organizing old paperwork. I quickly glanced at her as Roy took a seat.

"What is it?"

"I was wondering. I am almost 16 now and i feel like I'm old and mature enough. To maybe be taught. Flame Alchemy?" Riza stopped. Roy stopped. You could hear a pin drop. The only thing filling the room was Baxter's panting.

"Absolutely not." I furrowed my brows.

"Why not?"

"No."

"Why not?"

"Don't ask again."

"What the hell? I asked to learn alchemy when I was 14 and you wouldn't teach me. Seeing you fight people and catch them is really cool and I wanna be like that."

"You wanna be cool? That's what you wanna be?"

"Roy-" Riza began to interject but kept talking.

"Flame alchemy is not 'cool'. Only someone worthy enough can obtain the secrets of it." I was taken aback a little bit. My eyes welled with tears. Baxter wined and rubbed my leg. I looked down at him.

"Roy!" Riza said sternly. She touched my shoulder. I shrugged her hand off.

"I'm-" he began.

"No. I get it. I'm not worthy enough. Trust me I know. I haven't been worthy enough my whole life. Biological parents abusing me my whole life and dumping me when I'm only eight."

"Abusing?" Riza whispered. No I'd never told them. I told them I didn't know why even though I don't i just didn't want to say anything.

"So trust me I believe you when you say that." I turned around as Roy called me to come back. When I opened the door I hit something metal. I backed up. I looked at what I'd hit. It was Al.

"Hey you're -"

"No I'm the fullmetal alchemist!!" Edward interjected.

"Let me finish my sentence. I was gonna say Alphonse Elric. Does everyone around here really think I'm truly stupid?" I said pushing Alphonse out of my way and walking down the hallway.
