The ride home was silent. I sat in the back while Roy and Riza sat in the front.
"Are you guys hungry?" Riza asked softly. I kept looking out the window. "She didn't eat breakfast again," she whispered to Roy.
"Do you wanna stop for food?" Roy asked me. I kept looking out the window. "Let's stop at that restaurant on the corner." Roy said as Riza took a tight turn.

The waiter set a menu in front of me but I didn't dare touch it. I kept my arms crossed and looked out the window at the bustling streets. A man tried stealing an apple from a fruit stand. I giggled at his foolish attempt. He was obvious.
Riza and Roy discussed more about the man from earlier. I overheard his name was Scar and he'd been out killing state alchemists. I shivered at the thought that he could've killed Roy.
Yes what he said hurt but I still loved him. He was my dad. Wether he thought so or not that's how I saw him.
"Please eat." Riza said quietly as she nudged me with her arm.
"I'm not hungry." Was all I said. I could see from my peripheral that Riza looked to Roy for help.
"You haven't eaten all day. Pick a meal." He said. It hurt. That he hadn't even apologized for earlier. Did he mean it? Was I really not worthy? If I wasn't then why were they even raising me? Why'd they pick me up.
"Did you take Baxter back to the apartment?"
"Yes I dropped him off."
I picked up the menu and chose a burger.
