Airia p.o.v

I was nervous about finally seeing the madness lily and kyra had put me through. 'It will be fun' they said.  A few hours of attempting to tame my unruly curls was painful and frustrating.

I wasn't used to wearing dresses at all I felt like I was wearing a bed sheet. I wasn't too excited about having my markings showing either. Growing up I would get bullied about looking like a weirdo. you have to learn to live with... Rio would explain to me everytime I shed tears. I was still working on accepting them but since I was old enough to train It was much easier to just cover up.

The dress they had given me was pure white and low at the back which would show the markings that ran up my spine. It had thin straps that crossed at the back of my neck. The front led down to the floor with a embroidered layer underneath the sheer material. It was pretty enough but couldn't help how vulnerable I felt in it. The markings on my hands and arms were bearable if anything they could be covered by bangles and rings. Very little people knew they ran down the Centre of my back and around my ankles and thighs. I hoped this birthday coming I wouldn't receive anymore. I studied them in the mirror, it had been so long, observing them felt like acceptance in a strange sort of way I couldn't do anything about them. I had adapted to avoiding my reflection at all costs.

" I don't know why you are worrying they are beautiful" Lilly smiled. Her words made me wonder what made something beautiful? Weirdness? Something abnormal.. " It's starting to get dark and the water benders have already started" kyra smiled her wild red hair had proved un tameable like mine. It was a pleasure meeting someone who shared something in common. She was peaking out of the windows.

" it's exciting it's so rare for us to witness such things" she smiled.

It seemed living between the two city's was just like being here lost in the forest.

The new moons were always a exciting. I could only imagine what kind of celebrations they held in Celenia. As a child I'm sure I can remember they had huge fairs and different stands in the streets. It was hard to tell if those were just dreams or my actual memories.

The new moon brought new life and new adventures. The base looked completely different lit with white lanterns. "I'm glad there is food" kyra smiled. " you are always glad there is food" lily laughed.

"Is it like this every new moon?" She asked. "No only two every season today is special because it's the first for some of the new men plus you are here" I smiled.

" Come and join the winners ladies" Xavier smirked winking over to Xander who was slouched over his chair on the next table down. I was going to get his raft. He was a bad looser. I should probably avoid him at all costs.

" We did good today plus I got this back for you" I felt his eyes watching me and it was more awkward then I ever would have imagined. It might have been because I was anxious. It was making me paranoid. Social gatherings always did create turbulence in my stomach.

The sky was growing a teal colour as the sun began to descend casting mottled pinks and oranges to the east of the heavens.

As Xavier passed me my crystal back. I mutter a "thank you so much". I laid it on the grids so that it would charge during the full moon. "Xander's just messing he knows you did good today he can't handle it" he laughed.

" I don't know why he gets like this" I sighed. I would go and talk some sense in to that hard head of his. But it would only cause more problems. " It's because for a girl you go head to head with him just as hard as he does" he smirked taking a bite from his apple. Xavier looked smart in his uniform, the commander uniforms were tailored suits with a beam that run across the chest with the celenian crescent on. Both Xander and Xavier rarely wore them. It made them seem more Hansom then there usual attire and I'm sure they enjoined the sweet looks from the ladies.
