Chapter 2

I sit on my bed in silence my tortured soul unable to rest. I have no one to converse with for the first time ever. Rosalie and Emmett are going at it, Edward has been over Bella's house for a while now so I guess I'm by my lonesome. Being with Alice and Jasper isn't even a question since they've gone to who knows where. Edward's bringing Bella to meet us tomorrow.

Now thats something to look forward to, being around humans are so fascinating. Their lives are more exciting! Always being on the inevitable verge of dying but living instead must be so convivial. Humans seem to live with more of a purpose, since their lives are limited every second of everyday.

It's been so long I barely remember what's it's like. Who could blame me though, I've been 19 since 1820. I never chose this life but I choose this over dying, I've survived too long to give it all up now.

Just now something unbelievable happened, someone rung our doorbell! It has to be a human which is dangerous for us because what if they do start to lurk around here. I rush down there to see who it is and to my luck it's the nosiest human I have ever known. I smile genuinely at her , she's also my good friend.

She waves excitedly at me looking around in amazement.
I open the door and she embraces me tightly , I embrace her tightly as well. She really brings color into my life , she's the epitome of genuine happiness.

Grace my ace, how come you never told me you lived here, I thought we were close! She says dramatically

Times like this make me wish she knew my secret. She's like family to me too , she should know. I know she wouldn't tell anybody but like I said the Volturi is always up our ass.
It seems like they're watching us slowly and trying to control everything we do.

I'm sorry Mia I've just been a little busy lately. I do miss your company but I'd prefer that we just hangout at your place from now on , I say trying to leave and get her to do the same.

Okay fine but let's go out to eat , I've gotta talk to you plus I'm so starving . I was going to take a hike when I came across this house. I was going to call you anyway but my phone died so I rung the doorbell to borrow a phone . She says walking towards the garage.

I open in it and we get in my blue vintage 1956 Roadster.

Mia now that there's this animal killing people you shouldn't be out in the woods alone, at least not without me, I say grasping her hand after I start the car.

I wish she wasn't so careless at times, it frightens me so much because vampires pass through this area from time to time killing innocent people. I'll be damned if she's one of them, I won't lose anoth— , Mia interrupts my thoughts.

Grace I'm a tough gal, you know this. I'm too quiet and slick to be killed by some supposedly "murderous" animal , she says rolling her eyes.

Mia please, just trust me on that okay? I say reassuringly as I stare at the road.

Mia doesn't respond

The car swerves as I get agitated , it didn't swerve hard but it's enough to get a reaction out of her.
Mia this is not a game as your friend I fear for your safety.

Ok ok I'll be more careful now , Grace calm down your making me anxious . Mia lets her seat back

I grin widely, happy that she will have a better chance of survival than these other careless hikers.

Noticing my grin she bumps my shoulder, Aww you care about me , she says now touching my radio.
