Chapter 6

I come in Bella's room with some food, I do a little dance making her chuckle. " You're finally awake, you were beginning to scare me at first but you pulled through. How do you feel ?"

Her eyes flutter a little " I feel okay, I'm not really in much pain."

"You're pretty tough not even for a human , just period, you're very courageous. Just make sure you tell us next time you wanna handle something like that" I caress her head
She smiles weakly and nods

Bella looks at Edward "What happened, where's James?"

"We took care of it" Edward replies

She then looks at me "And the woman, Victoria, she ran off" I reassure her

"I'm alive because of you"Bella says to Edward
I turn around and give him a small smile.

"You're in here because of me" He quickly responds

"I'll just leave you two love birds alone" I say feeling like an argument was brewing.
I give Bella's hand a little squeeze and she squeezes mine back "I'll see you later".

I nod and exit her hospital room.

I wave to Bella's mother Renée  telling her bye, we instantly clicked and got on first name bases when she arrived to visit Bella. Renée is so cheerful and heart warming, she's all that but is totally clueless, I can tell. Mia's the same exact way, I might just make my way over to Mia's house.
"Leaving so soon Grace?"Renée says coming up to hug me.

I hug her tightly "Uh yeah , I have to go see someone."

"Okay well have fun and keep bringing that sunshine you bring when you enter a room" Renée says waving at me

I chuckle "Will do"

I get in my car and make my way to Mia's house , just to check upon her.
I speed up trying to get to her house in a hurry

I make it in due time , she's just laying on the porch , yeah laying on the porch, that's disgusting.
I get out of the car "I'm here"

"Mia continues to lay in silence unfazed by my presence"
I walk up and lay next to her , disregarding my slight germ phobia.
"So what's next for me, my mom's gone so is my dad. Grace I feel empty and broken inside, I feel tied to this dark hollowness that feels my heart"

" All you can do is live, and hope they're in a better place. It never gets easier but you do learn to manage the loss and somewhat try to make peace with the fact that it happened. When life happens or takes its course we either adapt to survive or join the dead."

Mia lays on my stomach and cries, "It's so hard though, it hurts"
I rub her head and sigh

I never wanted her to hurt like this, at least James is dead, and I'm hoping Victoria lays low because I will make it a priority to kill her. I'm no longer being kind, she's the enemy and if she's going to try to hurt my family I have to hurt her first. Now I don't have to be on edge wondering if a vampire will kill Mia or not,my mind is now more at ease.

"Grace I appreciate you, but you only have one life to live, you can't waste it just always staying with me" Mia rubs her head on my stomach

"Mia you're like my sister, no scratch that , you are my sister and I'll never leave your side when you need me the most."

Mia smiles "Yeah, I know, I just feel like you don't get to experience things enough, you barely go anywhere, or participate in activities sometimes."

I take a deep breath "Mia I'm going to prom next month."

Mia hops up instantly " OMG , whatttt ?!!! You??? I knew this year was your year !
You're going to look gorgeous, make sure to take pictures I wanna see you just to make sure it's not a dream."
