Tonight's the night. Graduation.

It's the most important day in my life.

I have a speech prepared since Principal McMahon asked me to deliver the farewell speech.

He said that usually the people doing the farewell speech end up becoming a bawling mess. I wonder why.

Graduation starts at 7:00, so I decide to get ready at 6:00 so I can get to school at 6:30.

I knock on Seth's door. "Brother? Can I come in?" I ask.

"It's open, Sis!" he exclaims, his voice oddly shaky. I walk in and he's crying.

"Seth! What's wrong?" I run over to him and hug him tightly.

"It just h-hit me t-that it's graduation. N-No more h-high school for us. We won't s-see our friends ag-again," he stammers. At that moment, it hits me like a light, and I cry hysterically.

After a few minutes of holding my brother and crying, I wipe the tears from my eyes and tell him that I have to do my makeup and hair. He nods and I walk to my room.

Finn gives the opening speech.

"Friends, family, thank you all for coming out tonight. Tonight, my fellow graduates and I will open a new chapter in our lives..."

His speech lasts about 10 minutes and then Principal McMahon announces who got scholarships, hands out diplomas, and, then, it's my turn for the speech.

"I'd like to thank everyone here for making my high school experience great. I'd like to thank my friends for always being there for me when I need them the most. I'd like to thank my boyfriend for being my shoulder to cry on, for being the light of my life. I love you, Finn. I'd also like to thank my parents for always supporting me. I'd like to thank my brother, Seth. Even though we fight a lot, we still care about each other and I love you. I'd also like to thank God for allowing me to stand here today."

My speech lasts about 15 minutes and then we play our songs.

We all stand in a straight line. Usually, Principal McMahon announces the class and then we throw up our caps. But tonight is different.

Sami grabs the microphone. He turns to Becky. "I know we just got back together and everything, but we've dated for a while before our breakup, and I did give you that promise ring, didn't I? And what did that promise ring symbolize?"

It hits Becky like a ton of bricks and she covers her mouth with her hand in shock.

Sami gets down on one knee. "Rebecca Quin Lynch, will you marry me?"

Becky smiles and nods. The pair kiss as we throw up our caps.
