Chapter 10:Spells and Potions

Scarlett's P.O.V

We all went down stairs and sat down grandma and mother took out these huge brown books made out of leather. As I sat their I remembered I forgotten to text Slater. Aww man I hope he wasn't angry at me, oh well I'll just text him when were done or in school.

"Scarlett dear come here, since you seem to be showing full on power now you'll be the guinea pig." grandma said

"Umm okay then" I said

"Now then go and stand in the middle of the room" I got up and stood in the center of the room "now close your eyes and concentrate on the words i say to you." I did as she told me, I closed my eyes and concentrated "Now Scarlett what do you think of when you hear wind, don't say anything just think about it." When grandma said wind I heard a gush of it by my ears I then thought about it more and suddenly I was surrounded by a whirlwind. "okay now what about fire?" mother said the wind stopped and I suddenly felt a warm tingly feeling in my body and especially in my hands and when I looked down my hands and fingers had fire coming out of them. "now water" grandma said. the fire calmed down and stopped and I was surrounded by a pool of water. "now earth" mother said I thought about the woods for earth and about the tree I always go to. and then I felt as if I was in the wood like it transformed our basement."now ice" I thought about our cold winters and how icy they got and when I opens my eyes the room was covered with snow and ice."alrighty missy how about spirit" I didn't really know what to think for spirit all I could think about for that was about my fathers spirit. and just like that a white smokey figure appeared in front of all of us. I gasped a little and then I heard a faint whisper "You all are going to fulfill your destinys" it said and like that it disappeared.

"Now Scarlett each time you do those it will become easier to you, now onto the next how to make a proper potion. we will start off with something simple we will make a laughing potion. now you will look up what you need in the book and find it yourselves, get to making the potion ladies."

Me and my sisters all nodded and we all looked in the book and this was the recipe

A clown shoe

5 cups of coffee

1/2 cup of cocoa powder

1 ballon animal

A funny bone

"Okay Charlotte you get the clown shoe and Violet you make the ballon animal and I'll get the coffee and cocoa powder and the funny bone." we all went and grabbed the items and put them all in this huge pot. The directions then said to let it boil for 15 mins and then let it cool for 5. me and my sisters followed the directions and 20 mins later the potion was ready, so we put it in a cup and brought it to grandma.

"Alright girls let's see what you have made" she sniffed it and smiled " here Violet why don't you see how you've done ." grandmother handed her the cup

"You want me to drink the whole thing?" She said and grandma nodded"well okay if you say so" and with one big gulp me and Charlotte watched her it took a few seconds to kick in but when it did it was the funniest thing ever. Violet bursted into a fit of laughter it was worse then when we give her chocolate or even worse when I have caffeine. Grandma smiled at us and made us do more potions through out the day, when it was night time we all headed up stairs.

"Now girls don't forget tommorow you will have to start your training, so you will have to wake up around 8 am"mom said

"What mom that is like dusk " Charlotte complained

"Yeah mom you know we barley sleep as it is" Violet said

"If I wake up at 8 I will not be happy it am not a morning person" I said

"Well I guess that just means your gunna be a better fighter " grandma said

We all said our good nights and headed to our rooms. I went into my room and set my alarm to be set at 7 am and then I went into my bed and fell into a deep sleep.
