Leslie's P.O.V.
I stood the door calling out his name, completely shocked at his dramatic exit. What on earth was it about this boy that I felt this need to know more about him. I sank into a chair as I thought about his reaction. It seemed too frantic for a sub drop. He just wanted to move away from me, and as much as that hurt me to accept, it was the truth. I needed to find out if he was safe, the way he rushed out I have no idea where he went. I quickly picked up my phone and placed a call to one of my men and asked them to make sure he was alright. I needed to know he was safe and out of danger. A few minutes later I got an update that he was at home and I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. I took a shower and got dressed heading to the main club to let Collin know that I was leaving and to remind him to make sure that Anthony was in a good condition before he stood for his punishment. I head home and get dressed in a more formal outfit before I head downstairs and start to leave. Just as I place my hand on the front door a loud voice forces me to stop in my track.
"LESLIE BEVERLY JORDAN" I turn in my tracks and grin sheepishly as I turned around. "What were you doing last night? Telling me you'll be back in two hours and then completely forget that I'm sitting at home, without any idea where you are or when you'll be back. And then you waltz in the next morning and don't even tell me that you're home. Have you had breakfast? And boy don't you dare let a lie out of that mouth or I'll have a spoon of marmite down your throat."
I walk towards the young round woman in the apron and kiss her cheek as I sweet talk her into letting me go. " I'm sorry, you know I was going to come back immediately but then I found someone I just had to spend the night with.."She glared at me with her signature eye roll before she grabbed my ear pulling me into the next room. My begging landed on deaf ears as she dragged me to the table and began scolding me like a child and I dejectedly let her do as she pleased because I knew she wouldn't let me go until she made her point. After fifteen minutes of apologizing and convincing she finally let me go with a fresh warm bagel in one hand and an iced coffee in the other and smack on my ass as I walked away.
I quickly got into my car and pulled out into the morning traffic, heading to Ethan's office since we already had a meeting booked first thing in the morning. As the traffic grew thick I let my thoughts wander over my previous night with the boy. There was something about his behavior that made me feel curious yet vary about him and the compelling feeling to know nagged my conscience continuously. I snap out of my thoughts as google maps yelled at me to take a right turn and I almost jump out of my skin at the loud sound. Damnit! it's at moment like these when I miss Theo the most but he isn't here right now and I have a meeting to be at. It isn't long before I pull up at the main building, I hand my keys to the front desk and head to the elevators.
A few minutes later the elevator stops at the top floor and I step off quickly heading straight into his office before his assistant could stop me. I am not really surprised to see that there is no one at the desk and simply sit down and pull out my computer and start to get some work done as I wait for Ethan to come in. A few minutes later, the glass door slides open and his P.A. walks in silently. She walks up to my side and sets down a mug of coffee before heading out without a word. I smile at her retreating figure before looking back down at my work with a huge sigh. It takes another hour and a half before the owner of this large building makes an appearance. He walks in and freezes at the door, clearly he didn't pay attention to what his P.A was saying because I heard her try and tell him that I lay in wait within the glass office.
"Good Afternoon Mr. García"
I let out the greeting and watch as he slowly checks me out before struggling with a reply.
"Good Afternoon Sir... uh... I mean Mr. Jordan"
I let out a small chuckle before a smirk settles on my face as his burns up with a blush and he looks down at his shoes, marching towards his desk. I pick my things up, placing them in my bag, and walk up to his desk sitting down comfortably as he places his things down and pulls up the documents and designs that i suppose we'll need throughout the meeting. But even after he settles down, he has trouble starting the conversation.
"I'm sorry" He blurts looking at me with guilt filled eyes and his eyes gather up a tear or two but he quickly blinks them away. I raise a questioning brow before speaking up-
"What went wrong? I know something is bothering you, I don't have a masters in human sciences and behavior for no reason." I place my words clearly as I charted the unknown territory of his emotions. "I couldn't help but notice your behavior at the club. You are not trained.. correct?" I look at him expectantly as he nods. "Use your words boy" I said firmly. "No matter which industry you are in, verbal consent is everything."
"Yes, sir. Sorry sir" he replied immediately and I couldn't help the smile that fell on my face.
"Such a sweet boy" I mumbled. "We can just continue with the meeting and have this talk at a better occasion if that makes you feel better."
"Yes... yeah I would like that." And just like that he seemed to push the matter to the back of his mind.
He immersed himself fully into the design of the project and we spent the next few hours going over and over the layout and outline of the place, talking about beam style, support structures, positioning of jack studs, window spans, wall placement ceiling material etc. As we continued to talk he quickly regained composure and confidence as we immersed deeper into the topic of his expertise. About 3 hours later, the project was detailed enough to start work from the ground up since I already had the basic foundations put in. As I packed up my items, I decided to go for it, I wanted to ask him to dinner, I definitely wanted to know more about him and I needed to ask him out.
"I have something to ask you... would you like to have dinner with me tonight?"
He smirks lightly before walking up to stand right in front of me-
"I know you think I'm sexy, I know you think I'm fine, but just like all the other guys pick a number and get in line."
He winks clearly before walking out the door leaving me standing there with a wide eyes and a half open jaw as I try to process the cheeky rejection my heart was subjected to just a second ago. A few seconds later I can't help the chuckle that escapes my lips which grows into a full blown laugh as I picture what had just happened in my head, my face was probably hilarious, I chuckle lightly as I shake my head and pack my things to leave and walk out the company with a strong feeling of being watched from the building, so I grab my phone before pulling up Ethan's number, and send out a text.
L - Staring won't give you the power to see through my clothes.
I smirk before climbing into my car that has been brought up by valet.
