He doesn't want to talk about it and it's fine by me but he is going to have a black eye tomorrow morning.

"You didn't have to do that," I said holding the ice pack against his right eye.

"I did," he replied looking down at his fidgeting fingers.

I shook my head "No, handsome."

"You don't deserve to be treated that way, maybe you're used to it but I'm not and even if I was, there's no reason to bring it up so they can make fun of you!" he exclaimed and then hissed at the pain.

My heart fluttered as a small smile appeared on my face "Thank you."

Ace pushed my hand away gently "I'm sorry I ruined the New Year for us."

"You didn't handsome, we are together and alone," I pecked his left cheek "that's perfect."

"Is it?" he smiled softly as he wrapped his arms around my waist to pull me onto his lap.

I giggled straddling him "Yes, baby."

"Can we do stuff? I mean, I deserve it for defending your honor," he smirked pulling me close "I want to—"

"Yes," I smiled "but one time and then to bed."

"Works for me," he flipped over and I dropped the ice pack.

"Ace!" I laughed "be careful, sweetheart."

"I love it when you call me that," he whispered looking into my eyes "never stop calling me that."

"I won't," I tickled the back of his neck as his lips curved up into a smile before claiming my lips.

We had amazing sex; it was sweet and tender. He kissed every inch of my body and so did I. This time it wasn't all about taking each other to the limit but feeling like one, I really liked how he held me and kissed behind my ear...it was just immaculate.

After that we went to bed, he had his arms around my waist and the duvet was covering our bodies even if we didn't need the warmth it was just to hide each other from the world.

The next morning when my eyes fluttered open he was staring at me with his black eye so I laughed "Hi, handsome, you look amazing."

"Shut up," he covered my eyes "this is what I get for defending your honor."

"I didn't ask you to," I giggled pushing his hand away.

"I know," he smiled "but when I see you I feel this instant need to protect you."

"You're the sweetest man I've ever met," I whispered caressing his cheek "I love your beard."

"You do? I was hesitant about letting it grow but now that you told me you love it, I'm never shaving again."

I giggled and then sighed "What's going to happen once we go back to New York? I don't think I should be dating my boss."

"My house, my rules and if you want to keep the job I'll be more than delighted to continue seeing you every morning in that cute little uniform," Ace tickled my waist "I think you should stay and if this becomes something serious then I can help you find another job, all right?"

"You're really kind Ace but I seriously doubt someone like me can work at the places where you have influence—"

He interrupted "Don't you ever talk yourself down, we will find something for you if the time comes and if you want to take the SAT again I will help you study."
