That weekend at teepee was an amazing time. The girls in LDP really enjoyed having Emery there with us especially Melody. Emery and Melody had many long talks and Emery began mentoring her even after LDP. I was super proud of what Emery was passing on to Melody. She was using what Taylor and I had taught her to help Melody.
Emery ended up staying with us for her grade 12 year as well and made a full recovery half way through grade 12. That year we grew extremely close. Then at the end of grade 12 she had a decision to make. Whether or not she was going to stay at camp and work full time or not. We prayed about it a lot but she knew that camp was her real home and she couldn't live anywhere else. So she then applied for full time work at camp and was hired. She has worked there for the last 5 years and is still loving it. I also stayed on camp staff and now have worked with Emery for the past 5 years and it has been amazing how she has grown in maturity and in her love for God and his work. I am also happy that I could be a big part of her growing and maturing. And as life continues, I want to be here for her always.
