I slowly step closer to the edge, feeling the wind brush through my greasy hair. I take another step looking down.

The city below me continues to go, it will continue to go even after I jump off. The world won't stop for me. That's exactly what I want.

The cars look like mini fairy lights as they drive by. The buildings remind me of the toys me and Kory used to play with. Our smiling faces lighting up every time we looked from each other to the little legos.

"Nathan!" Kory yells smiling. Rushing towards me with his small legs.

"No! Get away!" I yell smiling even bigger as he chases me around the yard holing a small snail.

"Imma get chu" he screams laughing. My small feet grow tired as the bigger boy chases me. Then I fall, vision going black.

When I open my eyes Kory is sitting next to me holding 6 fingers up.

"16" he yells out giggling slightly. He looked a little anxious, but seemed to calm down after noticing my color come back.

I giggle back and get up slowly.

"Wanna go watch a movie?" He asks

"Okay!" We skip off to his room, once we are there he puts on the first movie that he sees. 'The little mermaid'

"Hey boys" Korys mom says walking into the room.

"I brought Nathan some water."

"Thank you" I say smiling. Kory grabs the water from his mom and hands it to me spilling it only a little bit.

I smile at the little memory that swished through my brain. That was the first time Kory ever saw me pass out.

I remember him telling me how scared he was. But he always put on a brave face for me back then. Even now he does.

I sigh, shifting in the light, noticing the sound of sirens in the background. Almost ruining the moment. Yet somehow making it fuller.

I sit down on the edge, feeling my feet sway with the wind.

I look up at the sky. Seeing the clouds moving swiftly under the summer breeze. Wyatt is in the water splashing my brother as best as he could from his distance.

"That's not fair Shaun, your all the way over there" Wyatt says pushing on the water to make it go further towards him.

"Not my fault. Your the one who went closer to the doc" I shrug laughing, listening to their conversations. It's hard to laugh though, I knew that mom and dad were arguing just a few feet away. I could see them.

I knew he wouldn't hit her out in the open, but it sure felt like he would. He did at home.

I feel someone's eyes staring daggers towards my arms, covered by my white long sleeve. The newly found habit not showing.

"Earth to Nathan. Where are you?" Wyatt says. Shaun laughs noticing me zone out.

"Oh sorry, just thinking about how we are gonna get ice cream later"

"That's gonna be the best part" Shaun says walking over to me and plopping down on the sand.

"Sure is" I respond getting happy again.
