Falling. I can tell you it's kind of like flying except faster and your screaming the whole time.
My hair was flying around and I looked up to see the smirk from Jace above. Damn that flying nephilim.
Suddenly I realised the seriousness of this, I was plummeting to my death and no one was doing anything to stop it. I saw the grass slowly getting closer and it was then that death was certainly enevitable.
Then silver, coming in flashes. More flashes.
The falling sensation ceased and warm arms wrapped around me.
Jace's smirking face was replaced with an unfriendly frown.
The arms took a stronger hold of me. My eyes met with Kemp's and I felt my heart lundge for him. It seemed to just want him and the feeling was in controllable.
His powerful wings surged upwards and my feet met solid ground. He cracked a joke about 'watching my step' and walked off leaving me with a small smile and fluttery heart.
'Interesting', spoke my 'favourite' person; Jace.
'What is?' I asked sitting on a rock away from the training camp.
"You have a gift, you just spoke telepathically." He spoke quietly sitting down beside me.
"Hey what triggers gifts?" I asked wanting to know why I had never got them before.
"Your soul mate starts the chain reaction of gifts, when you see them, they just start. Unless your souls are split, then there's a problem." He paused for dramatic effect. "Seems like you just met yours."
He stalked off letting his words sink in. My mind kept flicking back to soulmate. Who was he?
I felt a dark shadow swallow up my body. I looked up to see a swarm of military people surrounding me screaming things at me like crazed fans. I heard people asking me if I was really the last nephilim. I just nodded and slumped further into the rock wishing them to go away.
Suddenly, as if on queue a loud voice broke through all the rest.
'Trina here now." Those three words actually made me scared.
I'm never one for discipline but I still know how to follow an order.
The crowd parted for me and I walked along the grassy path to Jerry.
He was leading me through the mass of tents to one particularly large, black.
"Trina, you will be staying in the nephilim tent. Jace is here as well, so play nice."
I waved him off and walked in to the darkly lit tent.
Candle light illuminated Jace's smirking face and I did the worst thing possible. I moaned.
