Leyal told mom everything.
From that day, I went back to school because mom got a phone call from school saying I missed a week of learning.
I went to my locker and placed my helmet on the shelf. As I closed it Kevin stood there.
"Oh fuck! You scared me."
"Sorry." He says licking his lips and weirdly stares at me.
"Um. What?" I said awkwardly.
"You're a really good sister. Sticking up for her." He says.
I frowned. "Thanks, I guess."
The bell rung, cutting the conversation like a knife.
"Well, I gotta get to class." I said walking away.
After school, I walked out of the building and saw Kevin talking to a guy.
I never saw him before. I walked towards them.
They both hopped in a rusty old truck.
The guy sat in the driver's seat and Kevin in the passenger seat.
They drove off before I thought about catching up.
I walked my bike home and saw the truck parked in front of the house.
I went inside.
"Leyal?" I called.
I heard laughing coming from the living room. Leyal was sitting on the couch and Kevin sat next to her talking.
I walked in closer and there's the guy from the schoolyard.
I paused in space.
"Mags?...Mags!" Leyal called.
I snapped.
"Yea?" I finally answered.
"Mom said she's gonna stay at work longer and dad has a business trip in Colorado," Leyal says smiling.
Kevin pulls her in and kisses her neck.
Ew! I thought.
I turned around and walked away.
I took a step on the staircase then looked at them laughing. I stormed upstairs to my room and closed the door gently.
Finally... I'm home and alone. I thought.
I glanced at my phone and noticed an Instagram notification. "Tyler?" I murmured. A knock appeared at my room door startling me as I hurried to put my phone away and the boy from downstairs came in.
"Hey." He says. His voice was low pitched and he smiled at me. His teeth were perfect and his hair was medium but curly. He means trouble if he is a friend of Kevin. I thought.
"Can I help you?" I said walking to the door. "Uh... Me, Leyal and Kevin are going to hang out, Care to join us?" He asks. I glanced at his light brown eyes. "No thanks. I rather stay home than to stare at the two lovebirds going cuckoo over each other." I rolled my eyes.
The guy laughed. "Me neither, that's why I asked you so I won't be the third wheel." He says.
I hope he thinks that I'm going on a date with him or something.
"What's in it for me?" I put my hands on my hips holding the door.
"Well. you've might have met a new friend." He smiled.
I frowned. It's easy to read him.
"Fine. let me get ready." I said.
"Great. We'll be waiting." He says walking down the stairs...
