I went in the passenger's seat of the truck the guy was driving and Kevin and Leyal were in the back. "Y'all ready?" He asked while buckling up.

"Where are we going?" I asked the guy.

"Hmm... y'all got something in mind?" He asked looking at Leyal and Kevin.

"Oouu. How about Indian Falls." Leyal suggest. Kevin and his friend agreed. They drove off away from the driveway.

He played music from his radio and I bumped to it. He looked over and I looked at him. I laughed and he smiled, looking back and forth at the road then at me as if he was checking me out.

We went to this park-like woods. It was quiet. I rolled the window down and looked around.

"Look a lake," I said pointing over to the giant puddle in the ground.

The guy pulled over and we got out the car. I walked to the lake looking at the view from a distance.

The guy stood next to me. We both glanced at each other and smiled.

Kevin looked at me and his friend talking with doubt. Leyal swung on the rope that was connected to the thick tree branch and dropped in the water.

The guy followed too. I swam to him after he dived in, I laughed. "Having fun?" he said diving underwater and swam around me. I followed underwater. We both went back up. "Yeah," I said.

The sun was setting and Leyal and Kevin were chasing each other on the sand, Mags and Kevin's friend sat in the truck. "Today was perfect," I said. He looks and chuckled. "Tyler." He says as my stomach fell. "What?" I looked at him with a faded smile. "My name is Tyler. I didn't mention it because I was nervous about talking to you." he blushed. "My name is Mags. You don't have to be nervous." I said. He looks at me for a while.

His phone rung. "Hello?" He said clearly. I looked in front of me, Kevin and Leyal hugging. I sighed. "Hey, babe." He said.

I looked at him in confusion. "Yeah, okay babe. Bye." He hung up. "Uh. sorry about that." He puts his phone down. "I didn't know you were in a relationship," I said. "Yea. but it's complicated." He said. I looked at him. "Complicated?"

"Yeah, hard times," he says. Is he lying? I thought.

I looked down. "Tyler?"

"Mags?" he replied.

"I don't want to get between you and your girlfriend. I mean as friends." I looked at him again.

He looked at he was thinking, then looked at me and slowly leaned towards my lips. Our lips touched, cold and soft. A kiss that only lasted more than three seconds.

I pushed him away. "I can't." I turned away. Tyler sat in his seat and nodded. The car got silenced as the sunset.

Kevin and Leyal got in the car laughing. "My nigga, you good?" Kevin asked Tyler hitting his arm. I looked at Tyler.

Why did he look upset? We drove off. My half wet hair dripped on my dry shirt and face.

We pulled up in the driveway and me and Leyal got out. I hurried inside before mom came. Leyal kissed Kevin and he went in the passenger seat. They drove off. Leyal shut the door. "What time is it?" Legal asked running upstairs.

"8:24," I said standing in the hall outside her room. I ran to my room to take off my wet and damped clothes.

Mom opened the front door. "Leyal? Mags? I'm home." She put down the keys and her purse on the kitchen table.

I went downstairs. "Hey, mom!... Leyal is in the shower." I said.

"How's work?" I asked. Mom sighs. "I have to do night shifts for the rest of the month." She said. "Wow, mom. I'm sorry." I said. "It's the least of my worries." mom kissed my forehead.

Leyal got out the shower and downstairs. The phone rang and mom picked it up. "Hello?" Mom says.

Leyal looks at mom as she hung out up.

"What happened, mom?" I asked. Mom looked at both of us. "I have to go back for work tonight." She says and grabs her keys, Moping out the house. "See you, girls, soon." Mom got in her car and drove off.

Mags looks and Leyal in confusion.

"That was weird," Leyal says closing the door.
