(Stark Expo)

"I don't see what the problem is, you're about to become the last eligible man in New York." Bucky complained. "You know there's three and a half million women here." I stated.
"Yeah, well I'd settle for just one." Steve mumbled. We were walking up to a big building with banners and bright lights.

"Good thing I took care of that." Alex commented, waving his hand to get the attention of two young women. "Hey Alex!" One of them called.
"What'd you tell her about me?" Steve asked my brother.
"Only the good stuff." Was all he replied. Wait, one girl for Steve and one girl for Alex... Wait!

"Where's my girl?" Bucky complained.
"Right behind you." He said, smiling. Fuck. When he turned around, all he did was smile, blush and grab my hand so we could walk in.

"Welcome to the modern marvel pavilion." Said a man out of the speakers. "And the world of tomorrow. A greater world, a better world." He finished.
"Oh my god, it's starting!" One of the girls said, dragging Alex along by his wrist.

"Ladies and gentlemen! Mr Howard Stark!" A woman shouted. Five women stood on the stage as a man, most likely Mr Stark, ran onto stage. He took off his hat and one of the five women collected it as she was kissed by Stark and then walked off stage.

"Ladies and gentlemen. What if I told you, that in just a few short years, your automobile won't even have to touch the ground, at all?" He asked us as his assistants took off the wheels of the auto mobile offstage.

"With Stark riddick reversion technology, you'll be able to do just that." He told us as he turned a dial on the panel and pushed a lever, and the automobile started to levitate off the ground! I squealed in delight and continued to look at the display. "Holy cow." Bucky muttered, not taking his eyes off of the stage.

Just then, one of the things began to spark and the whole thing crashed to the ground. "I did say a few years, didn't I?" He asked, chuckling nervously. "Hey Steve, Alex, what do you say we treat these girls-" He stopped when Steve wasn't in the place we last saw him. "Do you know where he is?" Alex asked me, I shook my head in response. He sighed and walked off, looking for our friend.

I saw an enlistment poster and immediately realised where he was. "Alex, Bucky!" I shouted over the crowd. They both looked at me as I pointed at the poster and they ran in the direction of the enlistment centre.

"C'mon! Kinda missing the point of a double date. We're taking the girls dancing." Bucky said, shoving Steve lightly on his shoulder to get his attention. "You go ahead, I'll catch up with you." Steve replied. "You're really gonna do this again?" Alex asked him, walking up to the pair.
"Well it's a fair, why not try my luck?" Steve replied sarcastically.

"As who? Steve from Ohio? They'll catch you." Alex asked.
"Or worse, they'll actually take you." Bucky reasoned.
"Look, I know you don't think I can do this, but-"
"This isn't a back alley." Bucky said, getting agitated.
"This is war." Alex confirmed.
"I know it's a war-" Steve tried to reason.
"Why are you so keen to fight?" Bucky asked. "There's so many important jobs..." I soon got bored and wandered off further off into the centre.

I picked up a leaflet on one of the stands and looked in the different sections. "When did you get in here?" I swiftly turned on my heel to find Steve with his hand on my shoulder.
"Just looking. You know I can't join, I'm a girl, even though I sometimes wish I wasn't." I said, muttering the last part. "I know the feeling." He replied, looking over his shoulder, watching the others walking off, laughing.

"Can you keep a secret?" He asked me.
"Can you?" I questioned.
"Yes."
"Then I can too."
"I'm going to try and enlist."
"Okay." I shrugged.
"Really!?" I nodded. "Wow. I've never met anyone more understanding." He said, impressed. We kept talking until Steve bumps into someone by accident.

"We are terribly sorry sir." I said as Steve smiled sheepishly.
"Follow me." He told Steve. He took him behind a curtain and I stopped before it, unsure if I should follow. "Are you coming?" He asked, popping his head though the gap, I could hear Steve snickering behind him. As I walked through, I shot his a sharp glare, causing him shut his mouth.

"Do you want to kill Nazis?" The man asked Steve.
"Pardon?"
"I said 'Do you want to kill Nazis'?" He repeated.
"Is this a test?" He asked him.
"Yes?" He asked, expectantly.
"I don't want to kill anyone. I just don't like bullies, I don't care where they're from." The other man replied by writing something on a clipboard. "What about you?" He asked, out of the blue. I think Steve forgot I was here. "Like Steve said, I don't like bullies. I don't care where they're from. But they joined, and are still joining, the wrong team." I replied.

We walked out of the small room and the man stamped Steve's file to say he was accepted. "Who are you?" I asked, before he could walk off.
"My name is Dr Erskine." Was all he said before he finally walked off.
"Why do you think he asked you the same question?" Steve asked me as we were walking back home. "Dunno." Was all I could say before we walked off back to our apartment.

The next morning...

I hugged the hell out of Bucky and Alex before it was time to go. "I made you both something." I admitted shyly, handing him a small box. He only undid my green hair ribbon on the box before he dragged off, dragged off to war.

I was reading my copy of Alice in Wonderland for the millionth time, when there was a knock at the door. "Hey Steve!" I called into his room.
"Yeah Cerrie?"
"You didn't invite anyone 'round, did you?"
"I didn't!"
"Who could possibly be at the door then?" I mumbled, walking to the door.

When I opened the door, there was a well dressed man. "Hello?"
"Does Steven Rogers live here?"
"Yes. You sit here and I'll go and get him."

"Steve, a man's in the living room. He want's see you." I informed him, pointing in the direction of the living room. "I'll make tea, while you go and see what he wants."

What he wanted was Steve, Steve now needs to pack his bags to join the army. They made sure he wasn't going with everyone else because he could've been seriously injured before her even got there.

After that, I got really lonely and depressed. I stopped going out and started to walk around the house in Steve's trousers and Bucky's shirts. I struggled to eat, when I did, I threw it all back up, so I gave up trying to do that. I just slept all day, until I got three letters through the post.

The first one was from Bucky:
To Cerrie, I hope you're getting by just fine. We're seeing the world here in the army! I love the present you got me, the pocket watch was wonderful, the quote inside was, and still is, truly hilarious. But, enough about me. How are you? I must get a reply otherwise I'll go mad! Get it? Hahaha! Lots of love, Bucky XXX

The second was from Alex:
To Cerrie, I well and truly miss you. I keep the picture of our time at Coney Island, it truly is a magical place. You, me, Bucky and Steve should go there again for your next birthday. You will never be too old for things like this, you will always be my little sister. Love Alex XXX

The last one wasn't from Steve like I thought it was:
To miss Cerrie-leigh Elizabeth Coulthard, you are to pack your bags as soon as you get this letter. You are going to be taken away to visit Dr Erskine, he will inform you of the rest as we cannot in this letter, spies may get to it first. Pack for a few weeks, we do not know how long you will be staying. Your sincerely, E Smith.

I decided to pack my black dress with red polka dots; a light peach one with a rose print around the hem and Steve's trousers with Bucky's funny purple shirt Because secretly, I fill it better.
