Loki ran so silently behind Natasha that she had to turn to check if he was still there. Everytime she would do so, he would give her a menacing look.
"Do you hear that?" Natasha whispered, coming to a halt.
"What?" Loki questioned.
"Footsteps. Quick! Hide!" She hissed.
"Ugh. How many times does this have to happen to us?" Loki sighed.
"As many times as it takes to get rid of these guys!"
They ducked into the shadows to see who was coming. From around the corner, Natasha saw Steve through the dimly-lit hallways with something metal strapped to his back.
"Natasha? Where did you go?" Steve said.
Sighing in relief, Natasha came out of the shadows and ran towards Steve. She quickly hugged him then stepped away.
"I'm so glad you're here! We need to get you to safety though." Natasha said.
"No. I want to help. You need me." He pulled the metal thing off of his back, showing it off to Natasha.
"What's that?" Loki questioned, a strange look appearing in his eyes when he looked at Steve. Was it hatred? Jealousy?
"It's a shield. It hasn't been painted yet, but still," he held the shield up, "It's invincible."
"But do you have a weapon?" Natasha asked.
Steve gestured to the shield. "Yeah. I just told you about it."
Natasha snorted and turned away. "Let's just get this over with."
Loki and Steve nodded. Natasha led the way until they heard another set of footsteps.
"Oh my gosh guys. I am so glad I found you." Tony ran around the corner, panting hard between every word.
"What are you doing here Tony?" Steve questioned.
Tony rolled his eyes. "Are you dense or something?"
Steve just stared, the same look as before on his face.
"I came to help, genius." Tony threw his arms in the air. "I can't believe you think I wouldn't help. After all we've been through as a bunch of friends. Gosh."
Natasha could practically see the sarcasm that was coming from Tony's mouth. And, for once, she had to control the urge to laugh.
"So have you guys heard what been happening outside? And inside I guess." Tony asked everyone.
"Well, there's obviously a big group of people here to kill Natasha." Loki said.
"And on top of that, a bunch of police officers got a call from a guy who was walking past the school," Tony started, "Apparently he heard the gunshot. About twenty or so police officers came charging in and every single one of them got killed."
"And how do you know that?" Loki asked.
"One of the police officers managed to get into Mrs. Jones class. He told us everything. I think I got a few of the others out too, but as I was coming to find you, I saw that he was dead."
"So how are you planning to help?" Natasha asked Tony skeptically. She glanced over him, noticing that he had no weapons only a single watch on his wrist.
"With my good looks of course." He smirked.
Natasha glared at him.
He raised his hands in a surrending position. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I have this!" He held his wrist up, showcasing the watch.
"With a watch?" Steve asked.
"Not exactly, Steve."
Once Tony was sure he had everyone's attention, he pressed a button on the watch. It grew out over his fingers until it was a metal glove type thing.
"What does it do?" Natasha asked.
He lifted his hand, showing them the palm of it. In the center was a blue area. "This blasts things."
The look on Tony's face remind Natasha of a small child receiving candy.
"I stole it from my dad a few months ago. I changed it slightly. It used to be a metal glove for punching things, you know? But adding this blaster makes it awesome!"
"I'm glad you're here to help." Natasha smirked.
"So, you're okay with help then?" Tony asked cautiously.
"Yeah? Why?" A feeling of uncurtained was settling in as soon as he said that.
"Because, I've got two other guys who want to help."
"Who?"
Tony sighed. "Okay. I'll go get them."
He crept away and around the corner. Natasha heard a few whispers coming from there and then saw the three of them come around the corner.
"Here they are."
Clint and Bruce are trailing behind Tony. Bruce looked like he was going to pass out at any moment but Clint didn't look the least bit scared.
Strapped to Clint's back was a small bow with a full quiver of arrows. Bruce didn't have anything with him.
"What's the plan?" Clint asked.
Bruce stood near him, keeping to himself.
"We don't really have one." Natasha replied.
"Maybe just rush in and try not to die?" Tony suggested.
Everybody looked at him angrily. He shrugged off their expressions. "Okay, I'm going then."
With horror written over every single persons face, they watch as Tony ran off screaming a weird kind of battle cry.
"Great! Now we all have to go!" Loki hissed.
The lot of them ran after Tony, Loki cursing under his breath the whole time. When they reached the scene of the fight, they noticed Tony was not alone.
"Brother! You decided to help!" Boomed Thor's voice.
Natasha noticed a huge hammer in his hand. When he threw it at someone, it came flying back to him.
She had no time to wonder how this worked, so she ran into the fight herself.
Surprisingly, they all worked well together—except Bruce. There was nothing he could do but stand silently in the shadows. Natasha had given him a gun, but he only used it when someone rushed after him.
Steve was throwing his shield at people's faces and using it to block others and himself from bullets.
Tony blasted everyone with his metal glove.
Clint was firing arrows everywhere. Every once in awhile, he would punch or kick someone.
Loki was doing whatever it was that he does. Natasha didn't quite understand it, but it seemed to her like magic.
Once they had knocked everyone out, they turned to the last person in the room, Ivan.
"No," He whispered at first, his voice gradually getting louder, "how were we beaten by-by children!" At this point he was practically yelling, the anger in his voice was unmistakable. "There's no way! No way!"
"Do you wish to take him on, Natasha?" Loki inquired, turning to face her.
She nodded at him, a determined look on her face. "Yes, I do."
