Model: GSR-04-Scavenger.
Length: 22m.
Width: 7.4m.
Height: 5.2m.
Mass: 22,000kg.
Crew: 1-6.Power Source: Tokamak fusion reactor (0.4m DIA torus corona). Magnetic containment field bound hydrogen-based mix fusion core.
Power Banks: Rated 1.8MW. Without reactor energy output, the Scavenger can maintain nominal functions for up to 3 days.
Propulsion: 3m DIA Ion drive Primary thruster, 2 x 1m DIA Ion drive Secondary thrusters, and 16 small maneuvering thrusters. Max sub-light velocity of 0.20C, achieved within ~30 minutes after maximum burn output is reached.
FTL: Type 3 Beringer's Shroud generator. Ship enveloped in a cloak of dark matter. Top shroud safe velocity of 42C, maximum 48C. Top speed of engine output and Shroud speed achieved within 1.5 hours.
Anchorage Points: 4 articulated control arms can be deployed to work directly in front of and around the ship. With 6 grappling hooks with retractable cables have both magnetic clamps for ferrous-based materials and pneumatic piston drill heads for all others.
Additional Information: Scavengers are the workhorses which tend to both external maintenance of the Station and acquisition of raw materials. Using their grappling cables they attach to larger portions of space rock for collection. If large fields of debris require collection, several Scavengers work in tandem with nets. Earlier rockhopper models spent decades harvesting from the asteroid belt of Sol System before Gaia's departure.
