Emma's POV

The night after my first kiss, I laid curled up in bed. I looked up at the clock to see the time, it was 11pm.

I was running marathons in my head the entire time. I couldn't stop thinking about the kiss. I was afraid his fangs would get into the way but they didn't.

I twirled my hair with my index finger and blushed  while I remembered the way he kissed me. I felt as if I was walking on clouds. I had never felt that way before and I didn't know what to do about it.

I ran my finger across the spot on my neck where he kissed gently . My ears were ringing and it still felt as if he was still close to me.

I turned my head to look at him. His back was turned to me and I could hear him breathing lightly. "How am I going to face him tomorrow?" I said under my breath.

I wanted to clear my thoughts so it would be easier for me to fall asleep. I got out of bed and walked to the balcony. The night air was cold but I didn't mind. It took my mind off Xander for a while.

I watched the busy city below, the scenery was beautiful. I wanted to fall asleep right where I was.

I looked up at the stars in the sky and started  counting  them. I was at the fifth star when I noticed something odd. It was as if the sky was falling. At first I thought I was imagining it but then I realized that it wasn't my imagination.

I stepped back and ran to Xander. He was already awake. He held me close to him and stared at the sky.

He whispered something and held me close to him.

The building began shaking and I felt dizzy. I was lifted into the air and placed in a transparent bubble. I tried to jump out but I only fell on my butt. The bubble started to ascend slowly spinning around with me inside.

I freaked out and looked down. Alexander was in a battle with something I couldn't see. It was like he was fighting the air. From the angle where I was he looked like a crazy person.

I heard painful growls from something but I couldn't see what it was. The bubble kept going higher and higher with me in it.

The last thing I heard before I blocked out was, "ensure that the Posytyve is safe. Bring her to the guard room."

Moments later

I opened my eyes slowly, they felt heavy and stung each time I blinked. I looked around me and noticed that I was in a forest,  but everything was wet. It was then I realized that I was in a rain forest.

I got scared and was about to get up but my entire body ached, every move I made was painful. I placed one hand on the ground and used  the other to hold onto a tree, then pulled myself up slowly.

"Where am I!?" I wondered.

I was surrounded by damp trees and plants, the soil below me was wet and sticky.  I began to panic and questions swarmed me like the mosquitos buzzing around my head.

"What is this place?" I said fanning away the mosquitoes that were flying around my head. I was in a rainforest all by myself without food or water.

Tears of exhaustion and frustration ran down my face. I was about to break down when I remembered what my mother told me.

"Crying won't help you physically but it can emotionally so after you've cried your eyes out get it over with it, move on to finding a way to fix the bad situation you're in." My mother was always by my side to encourage me and help me get through a lot of things.

I wiped my tears away, and walked toward a pathway divided by trees. With every step I took I  looked behind me to ensure I wasn't being followed.

I walked through the path until I noticed a small community, this  startled me because I never imagined that people would live in a rainforest.

I was so relieved that I ended up there. "Maybe I could get some help." I thought to myself almost running up to one of the houses.

I was about to knock on the door when the front door of the house next door opened.

A guy wearing a black cap stepped out of the house. He looked my age, but macho. Two children; a girl with blonde hair and a boy that resembled the man ran from the house pushing past him.

He was telling them to stop running when he turned his attention towards me. He stared at me for a second before he spoke.

"Hi, I've never seen you here before, are you okay?!"

I swallowed hard and stared at him for a while. I was scared because I didn't know who he was. I wanted to turn and run away but he was already walking over to me.

He seemed friendly but there was something off about him. His expression immediately changed when he was close enough to see my face clearly.

"Emma!?" He shouted in shock.

  "Shaun!?" I shouted in disbelief.

We stood facing each other with the same expression on our face.  Shaun was my next door neighbor. I had the biggest crush on him ever since the day he moved into our neighborhood.

We were friends but we weren't as close as I wanted us to be. Though Shaun seemed like the type of guy who would go around breaking the heart of every girl in town, he wasn't. In fact Shaun loved books more than I did, and every evening I'd find him fast asleep in the library with a different fictional novel left open in front of him.

"What are you doing here?" He asked still shocked to see me.

  "It's a long story." I replied.

"Wait, you're here and you can see me as I am. You're not fully human either are you?"
