Alexander's POV

"Are you going to tell her!?" Emma mouthed.

I exhaled heavily and looked at her. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't prepared for any of what happened.

"How do you two know each other?" My mother suddenly asked.

Emma and I looked over at her silently. We were both surprised at her question.

"Are you going to tell her or should I!?" She mouthed to me.

"What!? Am I supposed to just tell her I'm a vampire!? She'll think I'm crazy." I replied.

"Isn't that what you came here to do!?"

"I don't even know why I'm here." I told her.

"Say something, or I will."

"Fine!"

I took a deep breath and sat on the couch in front of my mother. That was the first time I'd thoroughly looked at her. Her hair looked darker than when I  last saw her and she looked thin. I could see she wasn't getting enough sleep and she wasn't eating as much as she should've been.

She stared at me silently, waiting to hear me speak. I tried to call her mother but the words never left my mouth.

"I...umm...I have to tell you something."

"Did your father send you here to kill me!?" She asked terrified.

"What!? No!"

"My father doesn't know I'm here." I told her.

"What happened to you all those years!?"

"Father and I left to protect you."

"Protect me!? Protect me from what!?"

I scratched my head and sighed.
"I don't think you would understand."

My mother placed her hands on her face and shook her head. Emma looked at me then at her.

"I don't know how else to tell you this. Alexander is a vampire and so is his father, they left so th-"

"Stop! Please stop!" She shouted cutting me off.

She rubbed her eyes then stared at me.

  "Do I look stupid!?"

I knew she'd react badly. My mother didn't like it when people toyed with her, and that was what she thought we were doing.

"I'm serious. I know this seems like a joke but it's true. The reason Emma disappeared was because she's the P-"

I paused for a second and stared at my mother.  "How did you know!?"

"How did I know what!?"  She asked.

Something didn't feel right. No human could resist hypnosis. I was too caught up in my emotions to notice everything was off.

  "Mother."

  "Yes son!?"

"What did I take with me when my dad and I left?"

  She stared at me silently.

"Oh honey! It was so long ago! I wouldn't remember."

My father made sure my mother was asleep before he erased her memory of us. That was all I needed. It confirmed my suspicions.

"Step away from that thing Emma!" I shouted.

  "What!?" She asked confused.

I got up and pulled her away.
