Chapter 34

Alexander's POV

  I watched her climb up onto the balcony and brush her hands off. Her long red hair swayed in the wind as she turned to look at me.

  Her light blue eyes twinkled in the dark while she stared at my exposed torso through my unbuttoned shirt.

  She was very beautiful, one of the most beautiful beings of her kind and that was one reason I liked her.

  "Hello Xander!"

She called my name breathily as if trying to seduce me. I turned to look at her making it visibly clear that I was annoyed with her invading my private moment.

  "What do you want Cleora!?" I asked.

  "Com'on don't act like you're not happy to see me. We both know you are Xander."

She traced her index finger down my shirt and pulled another button. I grabbed her wrist and placed it in her lap.

"Didn't I tell you to stop coming here long ago? Do you like being treated like a toy?"

  She pulled back her body not surprised at my reaction.

"As long as I'm your toy Xander."

I looked into her eyes not knowing how to feel. I wondered if I was supposed to feel pleased or sorry for her.

"Cleora, are you inlove with me?"

She turned away  and hung her head. I watched silently as her cheeks gained colour. For the first time since I knew her, she was speechless. Cleora used her fingers to tuck her hair behind her ear still avoiding my eyes. This was enough prove that she did.

"How could you love someone like me!?"

"We can't control who we fall for Xander." She replied.

I stared at her not knowing what to say. It was then I realized how how beautiful she was inside. She was naive but had a good heart. I couldn't understand how she could love the man who only cared about satisfying himself.

"You know I'm seeing someone right?"

"Yes I know. Everyone knows Xander." She answered.

"Then why did you come here?"

"I think you already know the answer to that."

We both sat in silence for a while. I took up the wine bottle and gave her my glass. I poured her a drink and she took a sip.

"I want to know, atleast tell me this. When did you start falling for me?"

She took another sip from the glass and smiled. She exhaled lightly and put the glass down.

"The first time I met you. You were so energetic, charming and adventurous. You made me climb out of my shell. I was honored to know that you took interest in me."

I raised my eyebrow in shock. I didn't know what to say to her so I remained silent.

"You are the only person that ever."

She ended the sentence there and waited for me to figure it out.

"I was your first?"

"You were." She answered.

"Oh, Cleora I'm so sorry."

"Why are you sorry?"

"You should be mad at me for using you. Aren't you atleast alittle upset about the way I treated you?"

"Of course I get angry about it but in the end it doesn't change how I feel." She replied.

She finished the glass and poured herself another drink.
