Chapter three

When I arrived home I was greeted with a "Go fix dinner mutt" So I did as I was told and fixed dinner, but as I sat at the couch doing my homework I could hear my parents talking while they ate dinner at the table "Do you think the pack will take us in if we ask?" I heard my mother ask "Yes dear, and that mutt of ours will probably be used by the pack like we use her" I heard my father say with a evil laugh and my mother also laughed. I was tired of hearing their conversation at this point so I just went to take a shower, my stomach growled but I was far from hungry, I felt full even though I haven't eaten in days, the only thing I will eat is fruit or a salad and I usually only eat two or three times a week. I eat enough so I don't die but so I don't gain weight, but I have always been strong because of my ancestors being the original werewolf, it was passed down to me somehow, I would be stronger if I ate more though.

A few minutes after I got out the shower and was drying off I heard a knock at the door "Get dressed into something nice mutt we are going to see the town pack" I heard my mother say. I grabbed my only dress that was bronze colored with bronze colored glitters with my black wedges and I put my clothes on and fixed my hair my hair to where it was presentable.

We arrived at the pack house, and it was huge. It looked as if a million people lived there.

We walked up to the door and my father knocked on the door "Don't act stupid mutt, if you ruin this for us. You will regret ever being born." He said and I nodded. The door open and by the smell radiating off of him it was the beta of the pack "Who are you and why is there a rogue behind you?!" The beta said getting into a attack stance "We cause no harm, we left our pack about 3 months ago. Due to our sons death." My father said before continuing "And we were hoping to have a place in your pack. And don't mind this useless mutt behind us, you can use her for anything you want." My father finished, the odd thing was, that I wasn't scared. I didn't... care.

The Beta sighed and walked us inside the house, staring at me with a face of pity and sympathy. He walked us to a office and sat us down in chairs, and even though there were three chairs my parents told me to sit on the floor because they didn't want me dirtying up the nice chairs, so I obeyed even though I had just taken a shower and wasn't dirty at all I knew it was just an excuse to have me be uncomfortable. About 5 minutes later I heard some shuffling and I turned my head from my spot on my floor and there stood Luke. I looked at him in surprise at how angry he looked, but when he looked at me he looked regretful and in pain, he also looked like he felt sympathy for me.

He looked back at my parents with anger, and he started stalking over to them "Hello Alpha-" My father started but was picked up by the collar of his shirt "How dare you abuse your daughter, my... MATE?! AND EXPECT ME TO WELCOME YOU IN MY PACK?!" He yelled, my father was obviously terrified as I sat there in pure shock, and when he said mate it made me a little mad. Wait... I feel mad? It can't be.. I'm just confused I thought to myself "A-Alpha t-there must be a understanding.." my father said "NO! I understand everything perfectly!" Like said before he motioned for his Beta "Take them to the dungeon." Like said and my mother and father whimpered before the were dragged away.

Luke looked at me "Paige... I-I" He started but I cut him off "There's no need for it. At least they are out of my life. Maybe I can move far away from them where they can't find me.." I said starting to get up but he stopped me by walking over to me and pushing me over to a chair and setting me down "Paige.. you don't need to leave, you can't stay here.." he said but I shook my head "No, and how dare you say I'm your mate after everything.." I said and he looked at me full of pain "Please Paige.. I'm so sorry.." he started "I-I'm just confused ok.. iv never wanted a mate.. but now.. now I know what it's like to feel so empty inside that you feel like you have nothing to live for.." he said and I felt bad for him. Stupid mate bond why can't you go away I thought, the only way the mate bond fully goes away is if both mates reject each other, but in the case it was only me that rejected him so the mate bond isn't fully gone.

"Fine.." I said and he looked at me "What?" He said "Fine, I will stay here but you have to earn my trust back for me to accept you again." I said and he looked at me full of hope before he hugged me which I was shocked about "Thank you.. I will do all that I can to win you over.." he whispered in my ear and I nodded

"Are you hungry?" He asked as we stood up and he looked at my figure "No." I replied and he frowned "You looked like you haven't eaten in years" he said "Well your wrong, I ate Monday" I replied with casually and he looked at me shocked before it was covered with both angry and sadness. He grabbed my hand and started to drag me "What are you doing?!" I said pulling away from him "I'm taking you to the pack doctor" he said and this time he dragged my and threw my over his shoulder "Stop! Put me down!" I said banging my fist on his back.

"No, you mean so much more to me than you think you do. I will not let you die on me, especially from starving yourself." He said
