Tortured Luna

Chapter nine

"Paige run and hide!" Luke yells at me as he begins to take his clothing off to shift "No!" I yell as I do the same as him before shifting and running off to attack a rogue that was attacking one of our pack members. My jaws shut tight over the rogues throat before I bite down harder and taste the blood gush into my mouth as he goes limp, I drop him and help the pack member up "Run!" I say through the mind link she obeys and I go to help other pack members that are being attacked, killing every rogue that comes in my path.

~Luke's POV~

I watch as Paige runs off to help a pack member and I huff in frustration at her not obeying before shifting and attacking rogues, when I was about to jump onto a rogue I felt a pain in my side before I was pushed with a heavy figure on top of me. I look up to see its a rogue and I snarl biting at him and trying to push him off but 4 other rogues had come to help him keep me down and they were snarling and biting me. I yelp in pain when I feel one of them bite my arm hard and feel the bone break, I hear a loud snarl and I turn my head to see Paige begin to run my way to save me "Paige no!! They are to strong!!" I say through our link and I see her shake her head and continue to run but she is pounced on, before the rogue can do any damage she snarls and bites his neck causing him to go limp.

Just before she reaches me I feel a pain in my head before I hear her howl in pain and everything goes dark.

~Paige's POV~

I howl in pain as I feel pain in my head and I see one of the rogues surrounding him bite his head, I snarl louder than ever and everyone stops to look at me as I run and pounce on the rogue ripping his head off along with every other rogue around us. All our pack members look at me in awe as I finish off the last rogue at fast speeds and return to Luke's side who has now shifted back into human form. I shift into human form before I begin crying and I pick up his head putting it in my lap rubbing his head that is now covered in blood "WHAT ARE YOU STANDING THERE FOR?! GET HIM SOME CLOTHES AND THE PACK DOCTOR!" I yell in my Luna voice and everyone begins to run around and get him clothes and the pack doctor "Luna, we need to take him." The pack doctor says walking up with a gurney and 2 pack members pushing it, I growl but allow them to pick him up.

We arrive in the pack doctors office but he tells me to stay out so they have more room, after I argue with one of the nurses for half an hour I finally obey and sit down to wait. Two hours later the doctor walks up to me and I shoot out my seat "Is he okay?!" I ask and he smiles sadly "Well yes but..." he begins "But?" I ask terrified "He will survive but, he will be in a coma" He says and my whole world stops. Am I hearing this right? A coma? I come out of my trance but I feel nothing, No pain, No sadness.. just nothing. I begin to speak but I stop and just simply nod before walking out of the room and back into the pack house into the trashed meeting room where all the pack members were waiting. I step up on the stage and begin to speak, my voice void of emotion, only in my luna voice "Silence" I say and the voices cease "As you know, your Alpha and my mate was attacked today. He was bitten on his head." I pause before continuing "There is good news and bad news... good news is that he will live.. bad news is... he's in a coma." I hear gasps "I don't know for how long he will be in this coma, but until he has awoken... I will be your leader. I will protect you with all my life." I pause letting it all sink in before continuing "I know some of you may be unhappy about this so... if you have any objections you can leave." I stop waiting for people to leave but no one does.

"Now that is discussed, you are dismissed to your rooms or houses to mourn the loss of loved ones or to simply take it all in." I say turning off the mic and stepping off the stage.

I walk up to Luke's bed room and I lay down in his bed inhaling his scent.

The next day I woke up and got dressed in some of Luke's clothes before walking down the stairs "Good morning Luna." One of the pack members says as she walks past me, I simply nod and continue walking. I arrive in Luke's hospital room and look at his pale body with wires hooked up to him. I sit next to him and grab his hand feeling a little emotion "I love you?" I say questionably just as the doctor walks in "Luna... I have a few questions for you.." he says as he sits beside me and I nod telling him to continue "Do you feel anything... Emotionally?" He asks and I raise my eyebrow before shaking my head no "Why are you not speaking?" He asks and I simply shrug turning away, I hear him mutter under his breath "Fuck" before he stands up and walks out the room.

I leave Luke's room to tend to pack duties when I hear speaking and I walk into the meeting room. I see the doctor standing up on the stage with the mic "It seems... our Luna is emotionless and mute..." I hear gasps "Although she may be emotionless and mute, it does not mean she can protect us any less. I just ask that you do not treat her any differently." He says and he walks off the stage.

•1 1/2 years later•

I punch the Alpha that is in my office making him fly through the window, and hearing him hit the grass outside "Don't ever say that to me again!!" I yell in my Luna voice, I hear a throat clear and I turn to see my dad "Do I need to tell them that they need to replace the window... again?" He questions and I nod sitting back down in my chair.

I walk through the halls with paper work in hand like I do everyday day and I open the door to Luke's room and sit down in my seat next to him. I begin to do my paperwork in an attempt to take my mind off stuff and begin looking for an email when I drop my papers, I sigh and bend down and begin picking them up when I see a familiar hand reach down and begin helping me. I look up to see Luke looking at me smiling, I blink a few times before I stand up and walk out the room with a confused Luke behind me.

I go to the doctor "Go to Luke." I say in my Luna voice sitting down in the waiting area thinking about everything "She what?!" I hear Luke yell with a dry voice before I hear running "Alpha! Your not supposed to be up! You just woke up!" I hear the doctor yell and the running cease "It was only a little nap." He says "No Alpha... you were in a coma.. for a year and a half.." He says "W-What?" Luke says and starts walking again and he walks up to me and bends down to my level taking my face in his hands "Paige? I'm so sorry..." He says and he kisses me, all emotion that was hidden away all came tumbling out anger, sadness, love and hatred. I begin crying uncontrollably but I feel the anger and hatred burning in my eyes "Alpha.. you should not have done that... she-" the doctor starts but I push Luke off and let out a loud snarl before I shift. "Paige.. calm down.. I'm here.. please calm down, for me?" He says and I feel my anger subside and I feel myself take control again, I shift back grabbing the blanket the doctor had set next to me and wrap it around my body "Why did she react that way?" Luke asks "Well, your the only thing that could bring her emotions back so when you kissed her all her emotions that were hidden away came tumbling back to her." The doctor says and before Luke can reply the door swings open "Luna! Alpha Bart is here again." Our beta says and I snarl and stand up running past him.

It's time to take my anger out on something.
