Bucky Barnes was still missing, his whereabouts unknown by everyone. So, when he turned up in the towers kitchen only to be found by me, the surprise was, well it was shown. Mainly by me dropping a glass on the floor when I turned around to see the ex assassin sat at the table, eating his way through our plums, a slight frown on his face. I managed to finally wave to him, my throat seeming as if it was closed.
"I don't know how to fix myself." He mumbled, his voice sounding almost meek, if that was even possible for him. He held up his metal arm, the hand of which was curled into a tight fist. I nodded, not wanting to piss him off. Before I walked to the lab to grab some of Tony's tools, I opened the fridge and found another pack of plums, placing them on the table by Bucky as I slipped past him. He nodded his head in thanks, but his motion was to my back.

When Steve walked into the kitchen the next morning to find his best friend, me and a set of tools all at the kitchen table, he was stunned to say the least.
"Morning Steve," I smiled before turning back to Bucky's arm, the hand of which was now open, but he couldn't move his pointer finger. "How on earth did you manage this Barnes?" I asked, picking up my screwdriver again.
"I don't know doll," He shrugged, stopping Steve in his tracks. "Thank you for helping me." He added, tucking the strand of hair that fell out of my ponytail behind my ear. Steve, by now, was dumbfounded, his mouth hanging open, brows furrowed.
"Steve," I repeated his name again, making a small laugh leave Bucky's lips. "Steve!" I raised my voice and Steve finally snapped from his thoughts, his mouth curving into an attentive smile.
"You okay Steve?" Bucky asked, eyebrow cocked in confusion as Steve's eyes flicked between Bucky and I.
"Uh yeah, how did the whole gonna hide in a ditch thing go?" Steve asked, picking up his cup of coffee and sipping it gently. Bucky shrugged, occasionally moving the fingers on his metal hand when I bent his pointer finger. It twitched slightly, making a small smile appear on Bucky's lips.
"It was alright, cleared my head but then the hand messed up. I was just gonna sit here all night, but this doll found me," Bucky tipped his head towards me, a smile appearing on my lips. "Do you need to go to sleep? You've been up since three, it's nine." Bucky was addressing me this time and I looked up at him.
"Nah, I don't usually sleep great anyway," I shrugged, watching as Bucky's eyebrows knitted together. "I'm alright Barnes, i'll just call you if I need someone to help me sleep."
Steve, at this point, was still dumbfounded but shook his head and left the room.

Two weeks later, Tony walked in on Bucky and I curled up together on the sofa, Bucky lay on his front, chest between my legs, head on my stomach, his arms tucked behind my back, my fingers tangled in his hair as we both slept. Tony immediately told everyone to come down to the living room, cameras at the ready. Steve found the whole thing quite cute, but he was still confused as to how this had managed to happen, so at the next opportunity, he asked us.

Bucky had come up behind me, his arms wrapped around my waist as I made us both eggs. Steve coughed lightly, making us both smile over to him.
"Hey Steve, you want some eggs?" I asked, watching as he sat himself on the countertop.
"No thanks, can I ask you two a question?" He looked over at the both of us, hands running through his hair. "What's going on with you two?" I turned to look at Bucky after Steve's question, to which Bucky smiled.
"I mean, we've been on a few dates but." I shrugged, turning back to the pan ahead of me.
"She's mine. I'm calling dibs," Bucky burrowed his face into my neck, a small smile dancing across my lips when he pressed his against my shoulder. "My human. My girlfriend." He whispered. I placed a kiss on his temple as best I could, watching as Steve left.
"My Bucky. My boyfriend."
