I wanna be alone
Alone with you - does that make sense?
I wanna steal your soul
And hide you in my treasure chest

Bucky's heart skipped whenever she smiled at him. She'd do this often and he longed to scoop her up in his arms and claim her as his, his lips against hers as she giggled slightly. He'd find himself smiling back at her, his hands tucked into his pockets to stop him from running a thumb over her cheek.

I don't know what to do
To do with your kiss on my neck
I don't know what feels true

She had found him after another bad dream, her hands cupping his cheeks as he sobbed into her. A mix of emotions flooded him when he felt her press a sleepy kiss on his cheek whilst they both attempted to sleep.

He never mentioned the kiss, neither did she, but everytime they lay together, hands running through hair and fingers laced together, a small sleepy kiss would be exchanged.

But this feels right so stay a sec
Yeah, you feel right so stay a sec

It had felt silly at the time, Bucky had asked her to lay with him, just until he fell asleep. As he lay there, his head on her chest, her hands running through his hair, her heartbeat lulling him to sleep, he decide he was happy there. She felt like home.

And let me crawl inside your veins
I'll build a wall, give you a ball and chain

She'd found a place in his heart that twinged when she was hurt, when she was upset, when she was happy. He connected to this girl's heart, her emotions, everything about her. The walls he had spent so long building had suddenly being climbed by this woman who he smiled at as she beamed down at him. She'd dive into his arms when she won a game of mario kart, to which he'd argue was because he was 102 and forgot how the controls worked. She let him stick to that excuse, her heart fluttering at the sight of his smile.

It's not like me to be so mean
You're all I wanted

He hated when she flirted with others. She'd pushed aside the feelings she had for him for fear he didn't feel the same so flirting was her only option. He'd be meaner to her when she did this. It was never voluntary of course, but his smiles would be more forced and he wouldn't really pay attention to her. He hated it and so did she. It hurt both of their hearts.

Just let me hold you
Like a hostage
He couldn't bear to ignore her after a while, so he'd run into her room and pull her onto the bed for a hug, laughs falling from their lips as they got back into their normal positions. As they got back to each other, back to the familiar heartbeats and laughs, they fell more and more in love.

Gold on your fingertips
Fingertips against my cheek

He didn't like his arm, never had. He'd sit her on his right side so she wasn't near it, but she'd move next to it and take his metal hand in her human one, the metal cooling her skin as she weaved their fingers together. Eventually, he found the courage to place it on her cheek, into which she leant her face, a small smile appearing on his face when he saw her.

Gold leaf across your lips
Kiss me until I can't speak

When he kissed her, her entire body relaxed into him, a relief she couldn't explain filling her as her fingers tangled in his hair. She eventually pulled away for air, a giggle falling from his lips as he stared down at her, heart racing and blood pumping. He was alive, here, with her. He was happy. He was in love.

Gold chain beneath your shirt
The shirt that you let me wear home

When he'd come into the kitchen on a lazy morning and see her eating her cereal in his jumper, his heart would flutter and he would sweep down to press a kiss on her lips before greeting her. His heart was hers and hers his.

Gold's fake and real love hurts
And nothing hurts when I'm alone
When you're with me and we're alone

They both soothed each other, whether that be from his nightmares or from her panic attacks. Hand in hand, they were going to take on the world together.

And let me crawl inside your veins
I'll build a wall, give you a ball and chain
It's not like me to be so mean
You're all I wanted
Just let me hold you
Hold you
Like a hostage
Like a hostage
