I skipped through the tower, calling Bucky's name as I did so. Steve eventually stopped me to inform me that Bucky was in the training room, information I thanked him for before running to find the super soldier. I swung open the door to find Bucky leant against the wall, sweat beading on his soft skin as he took a break to have a drink.
"Hey Sarge." I smiled, closing the door behind me and leaning against it. Bucky rolled his eyes, a playful smirk on his lips as he placed his bottle down again.
"What is it you need doll?" He asked, cocking an eyebrow as I smirked at him.
"You remember that favour you owe me?" I stepped closer to him, watching as his eyes flitted over my body. "I've gotta cash it in." I smiled, leaning against the pillar of the boxing ring and watching as Bucky contemplated for a moment.
"What would the favour be?" He asked, clenching then releasing his hands as if they were tensing up, even though only one could. I stepped forward, took his human hand in my own and pulled off the bandages he had on to protect his hands.
"My friends wedding," I pressed my thumbs into the middle of his palm, loosening the muscle. "I need a fake date." I shrugged, staring at Bucky's hand and feeling as Bucky's eyes stared into the top of my head.
"I'll do it," He mumbled, tucking a piece of hair behind my ear with his metal finger. "I'll need some backstory, but sure, i'll do it." I locked my eyes with his, letting his hand rest in my own.
"Thank you so much Buck! I've been fucking dreading this wedding but you might just make it bearable!" I wrapped my arms around his neck in a hug, feeling his arm wrap around my shoulders. I turned on my heel and walked out of the door, leaving Bucky in a slightly dazed state.
"Shit." He whispered to himself before putting away his training equipment and leaving to find Steve.

He managed to find the blonde in the kitchen, reading his newspaper and drinking his coffee. Bucky sat opposite his friend, a thoughtful smile on his lips when Steve looked over to him.
"So, what's got you all thoughtful Buck?" Steve asked, lowering his newspaper and observing his friend.
"Y/N just cashed in a favour." Bucky shrugged, picking up a plum from the fruit bowl and taking a bite. Steve simply nodded, knowing about his best friends feelings for me before lifting up his paper.

Two weeks later, I came down the stairs to meet Bucky in the foyer who was stood in a freshly pressed dark blue suit. I had opted for a burgundy lace skater dress with matching heels. Bucky's mouth fell open slightly as I came down the stairs before Sam closed it again.
"Ready to go Buck?" I asked, hooking my arm in his. He simply nodded, leading me towards the garage where he'd already unlocked one of the cars.
"You look beautiful." He whispered, his arm wrapping around around my waist before he swung open the door to my favourite land rover.
"This car looks pretty good, but you know, you look better." I smirked, climbing into the passenger seat of the car. Bucky blushed lightly as he sat next to me in the driver's seat, gloved hand resting on the steering wheel.
"Okay, we need to establish some info." Bucky tapped his thumbs on the steering wheel as the car pulled out of the garage. The engine rumbled beneath us as I thought for a moment.
"Okay," I shifted in my seat so that I could look at Bucky better and his side profile stopped my breath for just a moment. "Together eight months, you stay at mine, practically live together but don't." Bucky cocked an eyebrow.
"Why do I need to know that?" He asked, his foot pressing the brake as the light ahead of us flicked to red.
"They'll ask," I replied, watching Bucky nod, his plump bottom lip between his teeth. "We met, erm, how did we meet?" My last train of thought stumped me, and Bucky's brows furrowed in thought.
"Well I recall us meeting after you nearly murdered me in training," He began, the car rolling ahead again. "So maybe we could say Steve introduced us to each other?" I nodded, watching out the window as the trees whizzed by.
"You should know a few things. I'm the quiet one, so they'll kind of ignore me," I shrugged, my heel tapping against the floor. "The head bridesmaid is nosey as hell. She'll ask about a few things including but not limited to our sex life and your hand. What do I say if she asks?" Bucky took his gloved metal hand off the wheel and placed it on my knee.
"Let's say we fuck every hour." He chuckled to himself as I smacked him on the shoulder.
"I meant about this." I laced my fingers in his, feeling his fingers squeeze my knee, sending butterflies to my stomach.
"Just say it was an accident with hot oil. I'll say I work in a kitchen. Where do you work according to them?" His thumb was rubbing soothing circles against the skin of my knee as he spoke, the vibrations of the engine whirring underneath us.
"Just a dancer for shows and stuff." I kept my fingers laced with Bucky's, even as we walked towards the venue.

As I walked in, the gaggle of bridesmaids who were all stood in a group turned around. Mel, the head bridesmaid came over as quick as she could in her heels, and when she was close enough exclaimed,
"There she is, hell in high heels!" She held her arms out and I wrapped her in a hug. Bucky, who had just come from the bar with drinks for us, choked on his beer as Mel spoke. I took my drink from him, mumbling a small 'shut up' as he wrapped his arm around my waist. "Who's this nice piece of meat?" She turned to Bucky, who smiled.
"This is my boyfriend James, but everyone calls him Bucky. Buck this is Mel." Bucky stuck his hand out for Mel to shake, which she did before being called elsewhere. She trotted away and Bucky turned to me, smirk on his face.
"Hell in high heels?" He asked, eyebrow raised. I shoved him lightly with my shoulder. I could feel the blush rising in my face, to which he hummed lightly. "Relax, it's cute." He whispered before pressing a kiss on my cheek. Another one of the many bridesmaids came over, her ginger hair pulled into a neat bun, surrounded by flowers.
"Y/N!" I waved to her as she looked over to Bucky, obviously having seen our interaction from moments ago. "Girl, don't tell me you're still stripping with a guy like this on your arm." I shook my head, feeling Bucky's thumb press gently into my side as if to say 'really?'. I smiled over to him, watching as he cocked an eyebrow.
"One time!" I rolled my eyes, making Bucky chuckle. "Leah, you can't be single looking this beautiful. I never got to see you in dresses when we used to go out together." She twirled lightly, her pastel pink dress fanning out gently around her.
"Girl, i'd take a picture, this is the only time you'll catch me in one." She shrugged before taking a sip of her drink.
"Never say never, if I can manage to get a ring on this one," Bucky pulled me into him a bit, to which I smiled. "You'll have to wear a dress." I nodded, watching as Bucky beamed down at me. In that moment, I realised how nice Bucky's longer hair looked pushed back, a light spray of hairspray stopping it from being entirely uncontrollable
"Well then, you two have got a deal." She pulled me in for a hug, simultaneously whispering 'He's a keeper.' in my ear before walking towards a man I recognised as her brother.
"Is there anything else I should know about you?" Bucky asked before bringing his bottle of beer back up to his lips. I shrugged, sipping my drink before leading him towards two seats where I could rest my already aching feet.

Two hours later, the world officially had a new Mr and Mrs Ellis and Bucky was leant against the bar as I spoke to some old friends. I watched as one of the bridesmaids stared over to him, her bottom lip between her white teeth. I observed as she stalked over to her prey. She moved slowly, like clockwork, her laughs and movements timed perfectly. Her hand rested on the elbow of Bucky's metal arm and when he saw who it was, he flinched away from her, a confused look on his face. A jealous bubble burst in my stomach and I excused myself from the conversation before walking over to Bucky, who was making small conversation. I wrapped my arm around his metal one, watching as he relaxed. I ran my finger down the inside of his arm before lacing my fingers with his.
"Everything okay Buck?" I asked, staring up at him. He smiled a grateful smile, his hair falling over his face.
"Better now you're here doll." I ran my hands through his hair, neatening it for him before turning to the girl ahead of us.
"Oh my gosh Bev, I haven't seen you in ages!" She smiled a beaming smile, her eyes locked on Bucky. "How have you been? You've got to have a partner by now." She simply shook her head, hip cocked out to the side.
"Nothing. Still single. I see you're not." She acted perfectly civil, but there was a hint of malicious intent in her voice.
"Nope, I've caught this one." I squeezed Bucky's hand, feeling him pull me closer.
"I'm not complaining," Bucky joked and I watched as Beverly laughed like Bucky had told her the funniest joke in the world. "I'm gonna go get some fresh air, coming with me, doll?" He tipped his head towards the door, to which I nodded, allowing him to lead me outside.

"She's a handful, I swear." I sighed, resting my elbows on the handrail of the balcony. Bucky let a low chuckle roll from the back of his throat as he stood next to me.
"You do look beautiful today doll." He turned his head to look at me, a small smile on his lips.
"So do you," I bumped him with my hip, making another laugh come from him. I turned to look at him properly and when he saw me doing this, he did the same. He tucked a loose piece of hair behind my ear, leaving his hand on my cheek. I could swear his face was getting closer to mine, his breath mingling with mine. "Kiss me James." I whispered and with that he pressed his warm lips against my own, his metal arm wrapping around my waist. I pressed my hands against his chest, feeling his heartbeat race. Our lips moved in sync, my entire body erupting with fire as Bucky's lips left mine.
"When did the ex assassin learn how to kiss?" Bucky whispered, a small smile turning up the corner of his lips.
"When did you?" I asked, pulling him down by his shirt collar and pressing my lips back on his, missing the contact.
