Thirty Sixth chapter

Tris POV

One week later I am standing outside Tobias' university, I go to the principal's office and he lets me in.

- Hello? - He says - What can I do for you?

- Well, I came here to surprise my boyfriend so it would be wonderful if you let me stay for two days please? - I say, giving him puppy eyes.

- Emm I guess I can.... - He says - Who is your boyfriend?

Humm good question. Tobias never told me if he was going by Four or by his real name. I decide to try with the first one.

- Four.

The principal looks at me with a weird expression on his face and then he tells me Tobias' dorm number.

- Thanks! - I say, giving him a hug. I know that's weird but I am just so happy!!

He is startled at first but them he hugs back. I say goodbye and start looking for Tobias' dorm.

I walk around completely lost, this place is huge!!! I keep walking looking at the map someone gave me when I bump into someone, landing hard on the floor.

- Tris? - The person asks.

I look up and Zeke is standing there.

- Zeke? What are you doing here!?

He chuckles - I could ask you the same thing! But first, let me take a selfie.... Just kidding, first you could get up you know.

I blush and let out a laugh and take the hand that Zeke is holding out for me.

Once I am standing on my feet we walk to a bench and sit together.

- So... - I start - ¿What are you doing here?

- I study here - He shrugs.

- Since when?

- mmm 2 weeks ago or so.

- Cool - We stay in silence for a moment until he breaks it.

- So, what are you doing here?

- I came to surprise Four.

His face darkens a little at the mention of his best friend.

- I don't know if he wants to talk to you.

My face fall and my eyes begin to water.

- Why? - I ask, trying to suppress a sob.

- Well, we call you and a boy answered and then he yelled at you to get dressed, how could you do that to Four? I get that you fought that day but that doesn't give you the right to cheat on him.... - Zeke says, with anger in his voice.

I was shocked.

- What? - I manage to say. - I didn't cheat on him!

- I know what I heard - Zeke says.

- You THINK you know what you heard - Is my answer.

- Explain it to me then - He demands.

- The one who answered is a friend and we were going to a party so he was telling me to get dressed for the party!

Zeke starts pondering about what I said and then he starts blushing with embarrassment.

- I-I am so sorry Tris, I should have let you explain, I..

- It's OK - I interrupt him.

He searches for something in his pocket and then he hands it to me, a pair of keys.

- I am Four's roommate, he should be there. Go and surprise him!! - Zeke says, patting my head.

- Thanks Zeke!! - I hug him and go to Four and Zeke's dorm.

I use one of the keys and open the door..... Just to find Tobias and a girl kissing with desperation.

In that moment my heart breaks.

He promised he wouldn't break it.

He promised he wouldn't.

He promised it.

And he did it anyway.
