Astrid

"Warrior." I simply replied, trying to prevent my pride fom overflowing.

Night had fallen and we took our stay in a cave on the far side of the island. That way when we stripped of our armor and disguises no one would see us.

It was quiet and serine, the only sounds being the crashing waves and the cackling fire.

The dragons were well fed and curled up, watching their riders get ready for bed.

"So, first day done and it wasn't too bad." I start.

"You're right, it wasn't bad at all, but that's because all you did was go through a couple of tests. Those tests were to simply choose a fitting name. What happens when it's not just a test? When lives are on the line?"

"Then I'll be ready." I wasn't going to back down, he can't scare me.

Hiccup only shook his head, "I believe in you. Trust me, I do, but there is no being ready."

"He's right." a voice behind me says.

I quickly pick up my axe and turn, ready to swing, but Hiccup grabs my axe.

"Calm down blondie. I'm not here to fight." The  warrior that I faught earlier says.

Ignoring what she saif, I look to Hiccup to see how he was reacting.

With a smile, he greats,"Zara! I'm so sorry!"

"Care to explain?" She asks, hand on hip.

"Well, I was raiding Berk when I got an axe to the side. Gothi took me in and treated me. Which took a long time, then I kidnapped Heather and Astrid from Berk. Astrid found out who I was and....well." He flashed her his goofy sheepish smile.

She scoffs, "One day you're going to learn to run from danger rather than towards it."

"He caused it." I rebutle.

She narrows her eyes at me, "You do what you can to survive. Stay alive out here long enough and you'll start to realise that."

"Alright guys, that's enough. I have news, for the both of you." He let's out a shaky breath and both dragons perk up as if they know, "Look, this is really hard to say. I don't even know where to start..."

"Why don't you start with why you're telling us" Zara starts.

"And what it involves." I add.

He looks at the both of us, takes a deep breath and starts, "Well I'm telling the both of because it's something you need to know and it involves the both of you."

Zara and I exchange looks of confusion, trying to see if the other had any idea what was going on.

It's weird. I'm suddenly so comfortable with her, like I've known her my whole life. She even looks familiar. I'll have to ask her where she's from after Hiccup tells us what's going on.

Hiccup takes another deep breath and starts to pace.

"Alright, now you're worrying me. What's wrong?" I say.

He snaps his head up, "No, no, no!! It's not something bad, at all, I think..."

"You don't sound too sure about that one." Zara joins.

Hiccup stops pacing, "Ok, Zara. Do you remember what the first thing I said to you was?"

"Yeah. You said,'If you want those dragons to die and live the rest of your life knowing you let them die just because you wanted to save your own skin, then fine! That's on you!'" She quotes.

He let's out a chuckle and shakes his head, " I mean personally."

"You told me that I looked familiar and asked if we had met before." Zara recalls.

"Yes! Exactly! I said that you looked familiar because you reminded me of someone back at Berk." He exclaims.

"Ok..?" Zara and I both say in unison.

"There is a story about Hoffersons, saying that each generation tried to have three children because it was said that one would be strong, another smart, and the last quick. Their characteristics were what every true warrior trained to get. Separate, they were true challangers. The oldest could overtake you in pure strength, the middle could outsmart anyone, and the youngest was too quick to get a good hit. When they worked together they were undefeatable, but against each other, they were each other's undoing." He informs.

"Right...that's what the elders told us when we were kids. What does that have to do with us?" I ask.

"I remember, my dad saying something about your parents, Astrid. He said that they were going to have three kids to test the theory. I asked him why they didn't do it and he said that people heard the news and we're planning on kidnapping the children. However, they still had two children..." He explains.

My breath hitched in my throat. If what he's saying is correct, then that means that I have a brother or a sister out there somewhere.

"Astrid, Zara is your sister." He finishes.

"What?!"
