I will say this.. being a princess AND the Supreme Princess's attendant has it's perks. Well, maybe I'd call it a perk if I LIKED not having to dress myself. To be honest, while my previous life might be one of laziness.. I'm not a fan of having people dress me, that just feels like an invasion of privacy.

Before the big feast, apparently we were all required to dress well.. and before I knew it, a group of handmaidens guided me away to a private room where they stood me on a stool, and stripped my clothes of and began measuring me.

"Er.. can.. I at least have a towel... or a robe?" I muttered as one of the girls put a measuring tape to my arms, which I was being made to hold out.

"They're all girls Mira it's okay." said Melia from where she had been set next to a shelf.

"Yeah.. but still.. " I grunted, trying my best not to blush.

"Just hold still M'Lady.. we'll be quick as we can." said one of the Handmaidens.

The fitting process was completed in about 5 minutes, the handmaidens really knowing how to do their job quickly and efficiently. And before I knew it I was dressed in a black shoulderless dress, which opened up around one of my legs, sorta like those kind of dresses you'd expect movie stars on the red carpet to wear.

A gold serpent-like dragon intertwined around my dress, I stared at it. "Huh.. interesting design choice.

"The dragon is the symbol of the Demonic Royalty.. all royalty is required to be dressed in the symbolic attire of their heritage..  The Supreme Royalty is dressed with the symbol of the mighty sword."  said a Handmaiden with a bow. "Only the Royal members of this dinner are being dressed.. your other friends require no such honor.."

"I guess that's okay." I muttered as I thought about Yormungandr and how it would be thoroughly inconvenient if they discovered her tail and horns.

As I picked up Melia and she rechained herself to my back (whoo! Cold.. the shoulderless part of the dress made me realize that Melia's metal chains can be a little chilly) I noticed a picture on the wall.. it seemed to be a portrait of some sort.

A child version of Kassandra and Verum, both dressed in neat clothing, smiling serenely as they sat on the laps of their mother and father, a very kind looking bearded king with a golden crown on his head and a cape of wolf fur.. his pointed elf ears very visible.. and their mother, a beautiful elf girl.

"He.. looks older.." I muttered. "I thought elves stopped aging after a point like demons."

"Oh.. he doesn't if you were to remove the beard, his face still appears young." said a handmaiden.  "The facial hair is because he is part human. At one point in the royal line.. a king married a human queen, it was a long time ago though..  if you would come this way M'lady."

As I was led out into a massive golden banquet hall with large fancy chairs situated around a large silver and gold table filled with empty plates and well set utensils and goblets, I saw Vel already seated with everyone else, saving a chair for me next to her.

Verum was seated at the head of the table, with Najinda seated somewhere down the middle. Sever was seated in the next seat over from mine, Kassandra was seated across from me, dressed in a royal purple dress with a golden sword design on the front of the dress, true to tradition.

Yormungandr was bouncing cheerfully near Vel.. on her left.. and speaking of Vel.

My jaw dropped. She was dressed in a neat and beautiful dress with spaghetti  straps..  Green in color, like a forest.. a green ribbon tying each of her twin tails..  and there was a golden prancing swallow, the symbol of the High Elven Royalty that Vel had taught me about seemingly ages ago.
