Shirley eyed her Contactor with a shrewd eye.

From what she could surmise, Detective Vasco was around 20 minutes and 3.5 seconds late and counting.

She was at the police precinct, waiting at the desk across from Vasco's.

Shirley had taken the time to personalize the desk with her own effects. The old photograph of her old self and Doctor Watson..  A nice display case for her smoking pipe..  a small hanger for her hunting cap. And a few souvenirs she had in her pocket when Freyalvia had transported her here.

One was a silver pocket watch, a present from the Police Captain she had worked with in London, And the final souvenir from her old world..

It's appearance was a fancy walking cane.. though in reality, it was actually a gun. An air gun to be specific, capable of firing revolver rounds at sniper range.

It was the weapon of choice of Professor James Moriarty, the man Sherlock had considered his greatest foe.. and the one who nearly killed him after their final encounter falling over a waterfall. He had commissioned the gun from a blind German Mechanic by the family name of von Herder.

While Shirley herself was an early graduate of the Knight Academy in Raphtal city..  a secondary location to Formonde City's own main Knight Academy campus, she found that in spite of how old fashioned the weapon was, it was quite useful. It's clever concealment as a weapon had saved Shirley many times, in spite of it being formerly under the ownership of the Napoleon of Crime himself.

Shirley was not one to often bring out her Kaiju. It was the shy type.. and she usually preferred to talk with Shirley telepathically and not out loud.. So this she never put on her desk. Her Kaiju was instead, rather cleverly hidden on her person.

Other things on her desk included an old fashioned chemistry set, and various books on the different sciences of Varismalia that were not studied with great success or at all in the world from whence Shirley hailed.

Sciences like Geomancy, Alchemy, Magical Formationism,  Kaiju, The Anthropology of Kaiju, Studies on The 9 Races of Varismalia, and the Study of the 4 Races of Gathropon. Various things to help Shirley update her knowledge on the world in which she was not as familiar compared to her old world in which Baker Street was the main residence.

Shirley looked at her watch, then looked at her Contactor to make sure that each precise second was finely tuned.

She turned to one of the cops walking past. "Say, would you happen to have seen Detective Vasco come in today?"

The cop snorted. "No not recently.. but he's always late.. just how it works.."

"Do you know when he will be in.." Shirley asked.

"HAHA! You're a treat.. " the cop walked off, shaking his head and chuckling.

Shirley pouted. She sometimes suspected this young Cait Sith body affected her personality, because it hadn't escaped the notice of the Sherlock Holmes in her, that she had some childish tendencies..  She pouted, she acted selfishly in a kiddish manner..  she could only assume that it was part of Freyalvia's attempts to mess with whoever she reincarnated..  adding some new personality tropes as a result of the body's innate genetics perhaps..? Shirley could not come to a definite conclusion..

But either way.. the Shirley side of Holmes was inclined to run to Vasco's home address and bang on the door angrily, while the Sherlock side of her was inclined to go off and solve the case on her own.

The two sides to her persona battled viciously for a moment.. and finally one of them assumed victory, wrestling down the other part of the personality brutally, as children never give up their tantrums till they either tire out.. or get what they want.
