I'm no stranger to dead bodies. I'll just put that out there quick and simple.

Last year I dealt with my fair share of blood, gore, death, Dark Souls style getting beaten up, and not to mention the occasional Daemon smacking me through concrete walls.

Yeah. So, more dead bodies, what's the big deal? I mean what more crap could Freyalvia throw at me that is actually worse?

Sometimes I think that sort of thinking is the reason why Freyalvia seems to have taken a hiatus on messing with me. Maybe after Commissioner Daemon jerk and Paz were taught a lesson she was deciding that maybe ol' Mira Franklin wasn't worth screwing with.

Or she was biding her time.. as usual.

Either way, the reason THIS freaked me out, was that it was in my home.. OUR home.. right next to it..

And I was currently standing in our Living room, watching Crime Scene investigators prod the entire place.

I was hoping to see the familiar Cait Sith Kaiju Wielding Eleanor who I heard had recently been promoted to fill the spot of Commissioner after Slater was gone.  But she was nowhere to be seen.

Instead we got Vorpal.. who I didn't know well, but I guess we could trust him since he was like Vel's childhood friend.

"What've got here?" Vorpal muttered.. tapping Fizz against the back of his neck casually like a teacher with a ruler.  "Like.. seriously.. first day on your new job and already your boss is dead...bad luck seems to follow you around a lot Mira, not gonna lie."

"No need to tell me twice." I grumbled as I clutched my mug of coffee.

"This might take a while.. best you follow Vel back up to the palace and do your job.. don't worry,  Vel would kill me if we started rifing through the both of you's personal belongings..  specially with Triss coming in for a visit after so long.."

"Triss?" I said. "Wait.. Vel's older sister?! Like THAT Triss?"

"The relative.." Murmured Fizz.

"Right, yeah. She probably forgot to say, don't blame her though.. Triss tends to be quite 'last minute' when alerting people of her visits." said Vorpal.

"What do you know about her?" I asked hesitantly. "Vel never tells me much.. and.. well.."

"Mira's afraid that Vel doesn't say much because Triss doesn't like her." said Melia. "And I think that's ridiculous."

"Melia!" I grumbled.

"HAHA! That's what you're worried about?! Nah.. Triss is cool." said Vorpal. "Lot like her mom.. she's all for demons.. Reason why Vel doesn't talk much about her is cause she's intimidating..  Vel doesn't want people to get the wrong idea about Triss before they meet her, cause Triss tends to set her own reputation in stone before walking into a room as some super disciplined military badass. Truth is.. once you get past her whole decorated and up there way of talking, she's very nice."

"What's she like? Aside from the fancy talk and being nice?" I asked quickly.

"You'll see when you meet her." said Vorpal. "She's supposed to arrive in the city soon. Just know this.. You think me and Vel are badasses being the strongest in the capital? Well Triss is the strongest in the REGION..  Took on an entire battalion of Saurian Rebels on the outskirts of the Primeval forest with nothing but her Kaiju and 3 small 4 man squads.  The most decorated soldier in 100 years of Varismalian History."

"Guess YOU aren't above making her sound intimidating.." I said.
