I will think about it

Lydia.

I sat down in my regular spot at the back of the English class room. Alison walked in and winked at Stiles who was sitting up the front of the class as per usual, although that wink made me a little worried when Alison winks it usually means she has some sort of diabolical plan up her sleeve. Alison walked up and sat next to me.

"Oh my gosh I can't believe you're actually back I've missed you so much, so much has happened that I've needed you for. Basically I just really missed you." I say squeezing her into me.

"I missed you too," Ali said I could see the evil little mischievous streak flickering in her eye. "So how is Jackson?"

"How'd you know?" I whisper.

"I could tell the minute I sat down, because he wasn't sitting in that usual seat next to Stiles trying to make him feel uneasy." She says pointing to Jackson who was as far away from Stiles as possible.

"He cheated on me" I say a small sob escaping my lips.

"Again Lydia what a jerk, who with?"

"Catie Longstien, and I didn't even know about it until he broke up with me for her a week ago" I whisper.

"That slut, oh my gosh, at least you've had Stiles to talk to about it while I've been away." She says prying, she must know I haven't told Stiles I can tell by the tone of her voice.

"I... Well I haven't actually told Stiles yet. You know what happened last time Jackson cheated on me"

"Yeah Stiles punched Jackson and broke his jaw"

"Yeah and then?"

"Jackson punched back and stiles got knocked out for an hour" Alison says knowing Stiles lost. "But Lydia he is your best friend and he deserves to find out from you, not someone else! He is gonna be mad if he finds out from someone else and you haven't told him!" Alison yelled at me and my eyes began to fill with tears. Not because she yelled at me but because she was right, I can imagine if the tables were turned and I found out from someone else that Stiles had been broken up with.

For a split second I felt a pang of sadness and jealousy wash over me when thinking about Stiles having a girlfriend. What the hell is that about?

"Sorry Lyds I shouldn't have yelled at you. Please don't get upset I'm really sorry" Alison hates crying.

"No Alison" I say wiping the tears "You're right he deserves to know. I will tell him this afternoon." I say.

"So you and Stiles how are you?"

"Ali stop right there, you know Stiles and I are just friends, I was drunk that night it wasn't me"

"You spent 3 hours crying to me in the bathroom because Stiles almost, almost got with another girl, crying on and on about how you guys are soul mates, and how you two are destine to be together and how you have been completely in love with him since that mufti day in kindergarten. You said it with so much emotion and detail. That was not the ramblings of a drunk person they were the sober thoughts coming out when the brain wasn't aware to keep them in. You're in love with him Lydia, you always have been and you always will be no matter how hard you try and push it away" Alison pushes.

"And what if he doesn't like me back? What then Alison. What happens when it's too awkward to work one on one on a project together, then it's to awkward to sit together in class, then it's to awkward to walk out of school together, then it's to awkward to take me to school, then it's to awkward to wait for each other at the lockers, then he decides he needs space to move on from this and  then finally it's to awkward to even say hello to each other through the halls. What do I do if Stiles and Lydia are no longer Stiles and Lydia. I can't risk losing him. Our friendship is the most important thing in the world to me."

"Lydia, think about what you just said. You really think that Stiles would end your friendship just because you told him you have feelings for him. The worst that could happen is he'd say he didn't feel the same but he'd always want to be your friend. That's just who Stiles is." Alison explains.

"I don't know Ali, I guess I'll think about it." I respond seeing Alison's face shift from harsh to smug as if that's what she intended to get me to say since she walked in the door and knowing Alison she probably did.
