It's been almost three months since the crash and Alex was back to herself. She's got back into work with her modeling and it back in the studio. She's been out doing interviews for her solo projects and has been getting endorsement deals. She's been avoiding the drama with Take 3 but Carlotta got in touch with her about doing a group interview for the 331 album in two weeks and she's contractally obligated to promote the album.
She's in her bedroom packing her bag when Derek comes into the bedroom and wraps his arms around her from behind. They've been spending almost everyday together and finally able to start over again.
"Hey you."
"Hey. What you packing for?'
"Atlanta. I have to go do promo interviews of the album."
"You ready to see them?"
"Simone yes, Star no. But it's part of my contract so I have no choice."
"You not more than on bag?"
"No because I'm not staying for long."
"What you mean?" He says with his hands on her shoulders. She turns around and looks at him
"I've thought about this for a while and I want to move back home. Take 3 is over and there's nothing else keeping me in Atlanta except you. I'm gonna take care of some lose ends ad move back here after I'm done."
"What about us?" He asks. She sits down on the bed and runs her hands over her face.
"I love you and this has been an amazing three months together. I wouldn't ask you to do long distance if I didn't think it could work." She pleaded with him and he shows the frustration on his face. She covers her eyes with her hand upset over the situation.
"Alex look at me." He gets on his knees in front of her and takes her hands in his. "We've been through so much to not fight for what we have. I'm don't want to give up but I can't do the long distance thing."
"I knew you wouldn't."
"That's why I want to move up here."
"What?"
"We can start over. Have a life together."
"Baby, you're talking about moving across the country. What about Ruby and your job, BLM?"
"I got my settlement check and I can do BLM work anywhere. Besides my grandma been waiting for the day I move out so she and Beau can do god knows what in that house." He says and they laugh.
"You'd really want to leave?"
"Anywhere can be home for me as long as I'm with you."
"Where are we gonna live?"
"We'll find a place. We got enough for a one bedroom. Maybe a studio apartment depending how much these lofts are. I know it's kind of small compared to what you used to but-" She kisses him before he could finish his sentence.
"I don't care about the price. Like you said, anywhere's home as long as we're together." She says to him and he smiles. They kiss and fall back on the bed together.

They get on the train back to Atlanta the next week and planned their move to New York. They're in their cabin cuddling in bed together looking at different apartments up for rent. Derek is sitting up in bed while Alex is laying on her side and resting her head on his chest.
"What about Brooklyn?
"I thought you would want to stay in Manhattan."
"I love Manhattan but Brooklyn is different."
"Brooklyn is kind of out of the budget. What about this place in midtown? It's in a safe neighbourhood and it's right by the park.
"It's cute. It's big enough for us and maybe later some kids."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Not like now now but later. We don't know how long we're gonna live there but we can make it a home."
"That sounds perfect."
"We're really starting a new life together."
"It's me and you baby." He kisses her forehead and she lays her head down to sleep. She smiles thinking about the future they have planned together.
