Somewhere in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles
It's a wonderful morning in LA, sun shines and birds sing in the garden but everything is calm inside the house because it's too early for pets and brats to start messing around. Even Ares, who has nocturnal habits, has sought refuge in his cage one hour ago and is sleeping peacefully. Suddenly, three alarm clocks go off at the same time, the annoying ring echoing through the corridor for a few seconds, but only two girls walk out of their bedrooms yawning five minutes later.
"Kat! Come here, lazy ass... get up! Today is the day.... We're flying to Australia!!!" The young Asian girl yells while banging her sister's door for a minute till Kat opens it abruptly in a huff, her eyebrows furrowed trying to imitate the world-famous 'Frown of the Ruby Rose,' quite successfully judging by Jin's reaction because she steps back swallowing hard, clearing the way for the young Moroccan to leave her bedroom and walk down the corridor.
"I'm not a lazy ass, I was looking for my new dressing gown..." she points at the beautiful pink garment covering her matching pyjamas. "I'm going to get wrinkles for this and you're going to pay for my Botox..."Kat growls and gestures at her forehead with the dignity of a queen before taking the kettle and getting closer to the stove.
"Someone is in bad mood very early in the morning..." The younger girl whispers sitting on a stool and grabbing her favourite bag of cookies.
"I'm sorry, you were saying?" Kat turns around and stares at her sister with squinty eyes.
"I was saying that... come to think of it... daddy has mastered 'The Frown of the Ruby Rose' but she never gets wrinkles and her skin looks flawless, how does she do it?" Cookie asks while jumping from her stool and taking the tea bags from a cabinet, dodging Jin who's looking into de fridge trying to decide if she's going to make avocado toast or fruit salad for breakfast.
"Batwoman's powers..." the young Moroccan shrugs and puts the kettle on the stove.
"Wait, I'll do it... you don't know how to make a good tea..."
"Aca-scuse me??? I'm Moroccan! Have you ever heard about tea and mint?"
"I donut care, Kat. I'm English and we're the only ones world-renowned for the quality of our cups of tea... I could make tea for the queen and she'll give me a royal warrant of appointment forcing me to make her tea every day at 5 o'clock... I'm that good." Blue blob smiles smugly while waving a bag of Yorkshire tea in front of her sister's face.
"You must be joking... Jin! You're Chinese... say something!"
"I want coffee... Spiced Moroccan style, please..." the young Asian smiles smugly and Kat nods, pointing at her but looking at Cookie.
"She's a good sister... you are not..." And she rushes to take the cinnamon and ginger from a drawer.
"Sorry, Kat. I think I'm too excited about this trip..." The young brat pouts making her friend shake her head.
"You shouldn't be nervous, you'll do exactly the same you do every day: watching movies and listening to music but on a First Class seat and with a flight attendant handing you treats. Also it's autumn there and it's getting cold so you'll be able to wear your hoodies."
"Not half bad..." The English girl admits before pointing at the entrance hall that can be seen from the kitchen door. "Whose bags are these?"
"Those are Iselen's bags and those black ones over there are mine..." The three brats turn around caught off guard by Ruby's voice. The actress is leaning on the door frame, wearing ripped jeans and a band T-shirt but she's barefoot and her hair is still wet from the shower. The sound of footsteps echo through the corridor and Iselen walks in the kitchen while adjusting the belt of her jeans, she looks up when she notices the room is too quiet and realizes that her kids are staring at her in awe.
