5. Bennett

I took a deep breath as I drove up the gravel road towards the Savage pack. This is the first time in two weeks, since I left, that I've been back here. It was strange to see the big mansion-like structure come into view the closer I got it. I mean don't get me wrong I do miss being here but after everything that happened two weeks ago, I can't find it in me to come back. The only reason I did was because it was Tyson, Benji's eldest, birthday today and I had promised him that I would be here for his birthday, but I didn't think that I'd be coming here with Dimitri.

"Damn you sure have a long dirt road," Dimitri said from the passenger's seat and I looked over to see him looking out the window at the passing trees. I could see familiar wolves running alongside and I smiled.

>We missed you Benny< their voices echoed in my head as they ran beside me making Dimitri sit up straighter

>I missed you guys too< I replied just as I arrived at the packhouse and parked the car beside Chris' bike before getting out with Dimitri in tow-who held the gift we got Tyson-while the wolves shifted to human form and quickly dressed in the clothes they had tied at their ankles.

I was pulled into a bone-crushing hug from Uriel making me groan at the strength of his grip which in turn made Dimitri growl from behind me. Once Uriel let go, the rest took turns in giving me a hug before they looked at Dimitri who was fighting his control.

"Dimitri, I'd like you to meet my best friends, Uriel, Raine, Braxton, Montana, and Julia," I said as I pointed to each one and they gave him a small wave wondering why the alpha of the King Pack was here and with me

"And guys I'd like you to meet my mate, Alpha Dimitri King," I said and I resisted the urge to burst in laughter at the way their eyes nearly fell out for heir sockets at my words

>Mate?< They yelled in my head making me wince and glare at them as I clutched my head

"Something wrong?" Dimitri asked when he noticed and I shook my head giving him a reassuring smile when he didn't look convinced before he nodded, "It's nice to meet you all. I've heard good things about you from Benny"

"It's good to meet you as well Alpha Dimitri," Raine said as he bowed in respect but Dimitri shook his head

"Don't need to bow, just because I'm an alpha doesn't change the fact that I'm your age so please don't treat me any differently then you do with Bennett" he said and my friends looked perplexed at Dimitri's words but nodded nonetheless

"Okay, um, anyway, come on the rest of the pack are already in the yard and I'm sure Tyson is excited to see you," Monica said as she looked at me with a smile and I nodded and looked at Dimitri how to have me a small smile and held his arm out for me to lead the way and so I did.

The music got louder the closer we got to the yard and as soon as I stepped through the gate, the music stopped and all eyes were on me-or more specifically on Dimitri and I-and I could hear their whispers asking why Dimitri was here and what business did he have with the pack that he couldn't have called Benji.

"Ignore them, Dimitri, we're just here for Tyson" I murmured and he nodded 

"UNCLE BENNY!" The sound of my nephew yelling my name made me look over to the house and grinned holding my arms out for the 7-year-old to jump into them as he made a run towards me, "UNCLE BENNY YOU CAME!" He screeched as his little arms wrapped around my neck making me chuckle as I held him up

"of course I did, I wouldn't have missed your birthday for anything in the world," I said and a bright smile overtook his face as he grinned before he looked at Dimitri who was standing awkwardly beside me
