Y/N-
I look at the off white walls that surround me, the same walls I've been looking at for 17 whole years. Most kids are put here because their parents don't want to deal with them, at least they have the chance to see the city, a chance to see anything but these same walls for their whole existence. My mom being the 'lovely' person she is decided that she didn't want kids 3 weeks after I was born. I've been here ever since, it really wasn't that bad starting off but as time went on it just got worse and worse.
I plan on rebelling and escaping once I'm 18, which is in 2 days! If I'm planing to escape I thought it would be a good idea to write down everything that's happened to me at this horrible place for the past 18 years. I hope once I'm out of here I can get this published and get this place shut down. It doesn't have a official name, we just call it 'the district'. So I'll tell you every thing from the beginning.
The Start
At only 3 weeks old my mom brought me trough the heavy metal doors, which they keep locked with like 499 locks. For the first year I can't remember much, but I know I had 3 meals a day, a nice place to sleep, and toys to play with. A worker named Rachel took me under her wing, she treated me like her own child. She was absolutely beautiful! Long, wavy ginger hair, light green eyes, she always had the kindest smile on. I didn't know this at the time but, she was helping some of the kids rebel, that's what got her killed. When I was 3 years old they found out she was doing this so, their genius idea to solve their problem was to bring her life to a end.
One day I was sitting outside of her room when a boy, not much older than me came over and sat next to me. He had bright eyes, his top lip curved into a slight pout, dark straight hair. He was wearing our uniform white jacket.
-
"You knew Rachel too?... I'm Minho, Uhh Lee Minho!" He said with a shy smile, holding his and out to greet me."Yeah, she was like my mom. I'm Y/N,
Y/F/N (your first name) Y/L/N (your last name)." I couldn't help but giggle at him. He was so shy. I took his hand in mine."Same. so, ummm how old are you? I'm 5!" He said trying to get off the sad subject.
"Oh... 3." I say looking away from him, I was always nervous around older people.
"Haha, looks like I'm older. Maybe we can be friends? You seem fun!" He exclaimed with a big smile.
"Sure, it's really lonely here."
-
He was my favorite person, my only friend. He was amazing! Even though I was younger it always felt like I was the one taking care of him. He had such a... rare personality, most people wouldn't understand. They would think he was mean or didn't care about anything, but he was just the opposite! He wouldn't even hurt a fly, that is if one could get trough the doors of this place. God! I could go on and on about him, he was about the only decent person in the place. As time grew on we learned more and more about each other, turns out his parents brought him here when he was 2. This was just the beginning of our friendship.
Passing time
Minho and I where just like 'normal' best friends, inside jokes, playfully making fun of each other, sarcastic comebacks and comments, we would sneak each other food. We had an amazing friendship despite all the bad.
-
"Hey hoe, you talk to god about adding a few extra inches to your height, or does he not like you?""Shut up short stacks! You're like 5'2."
"I'm 5'4 1/2!" I let out slight groan.
"And I'm 5'9, still got 4 3/4 on ya!" He said bending down to match my height.
"Pudding at 3! Meet in my room!" I yell waking away.
-
We would play music over the intercom, I would leave weird drawings on the walls, we did everything but what we where told to do. Everyone had to take this weird red pill, me and Minho never did though. Every time they would give it to us we would just act like we took it and secretly drop it into our hoods. I never found out what is was though.
I actually gave him the nickname 'Lee Know' because whenever I would talk to him he would always know what to say. It just kinda stuck and he wanted people to call him Lee Know. I know this seems like it has nothing to do with this place but, just wait it'll all come together.
Goodbye
It was my 16th birthday, this day was supposed to be fun and amazing. I guess that was too much to ask. His words keep replaying in my head- "I'm always here, even if I'm not. Your memories are the only things that are guaranteed, remember that. I love you so, so much! I want to stay here, by your side forever. But I can't, I'm sorry." That was one of the last thing he ever said to me, that was the last time I heard his voice, the last time I saw his face. It's been 2 years. Every day is slowly killing me, every day not knowing where he is, what he meant. I miss him so much.
-
"Happy birthday Y/N!! Big 16 aye!" He said giving me a big back hug."Yeah, although age doesn't have much value here."
"Oh come on, cheer up! I don't want you to have a sad face the last time I see you for a while!"
"Wait! What, the last time you see me?! Lee Know what are you talking about?"
"I've cherished every moment of every day for the past 13 years with you, you grew up to be such a wonderful person. Don't let anyone change that. Your mind is a maze, find the key."
"Lee Know! Please... stay." I yell as he walks down the hall.
A/N- I think this is a good place to leave it! I'll write more soon.
