Chapter Fourteen | Elevator Shenanigans

YOU MADE YOUR WAY the temple, silently sneaking to the corner and carefully looking behind it to see if there were enemies ahead. There was one soldier that had his back toward you.

        Perfect.

Sneaking around in a slightly crouched position, you waited until you were directly behind him to attack.

You kicked out his leg, making him kneel, and wrapped your hand around his head. Before he could utter a word, you grabbed the tactical knife attached to your belt with your other hand and stabbed him in the neck as hard as you could. He made a few gurgling sounds before collapsing to the ground.

Looting the dead guard to find ammo and salvage, you climbed up a wall with exposed beams, reaching a balcony.

        Another soldier was standing below.

Gripping the combat knife, you jumped down on top of him and stabbed him in the side of the neck, landing on the ground on your side.

The impact caused you to let out a pained whimper; your ribs were no doubt bruised.

Pushing yourself up from the ground you then finished off the remaining soldiers in the temple. Once they were dealt with, you climbed back up the balcony and signaled to Chloe and Nathan that you killed the soldiers.

Nathan's guy was packing an RPG, and he needed to be dealt with first and foremost if you had any hope of surviving.

Of course, the fact that Chloe was ready to prime her own entrance with a well-cooked grenade once the RPG-wielding mercenary was downed means things should, at the very least, be quite explosive.

You watched as Nathan headed down the side of the building and took cover behind the low wall at the bottom of the steps.

He then jumped to the other wall beside it and snuck across the back of the truck and stealth attacked the guard on the other side. Jumping into the truck, he snapped the neck of the RPG-wielding mercenary.

Once he was felled, Chloe threw her grenade into a group of mercenaries.

        And so, the firefight began.

The jersey barriers, sandbags, statues, and even the truck where the RPG-wielding mercenary was stationed would all act as a great cover for the three of you.

Rest assured, you'd have your hands full in what was, no doubt, the most difficult gunfight you yet encountered in your still-young adventure.

Dropping down from the balcony, you landed softly on your feet and grabbed the MP40 submachine gun nearby. You aimed for the head and took out about six soldiers while Chloe and Nathan finished off the rest.
