Chapter Four | Night at the Museum

Present Day
The Himalayas

AFTER SITTING ON THE ground for what seemed like hours (which was merely 5 minutes), you started to shake Nathan gently, knowing you couldn't stay out here. He woke up and you slowly got back on your feet, looking at the crash site surrounding you. What was left of the train carriages were now scattered along the mountain.

You scanned the area, hoping for a way out of the wreckage. A few feet away from you guys was a tiny gap between two carriages. "Over there."

As you made your way through the passage, you noticed one carriage was crushing the tree with every move it made. In a few seconds, the tree would come crashing down on both of you. You moved faster and made it out just in time as the tree collapsed; the carriage blocking where you once were.

You had to keep your face covered with your red scarf from the harsh winds. The tips of your fingers were in actual pain, as well as your toes. Get it together [Name]. The henley Nathan gave you on the train did nothing to help; the wind going right through it.

Since you were high up in the Himalayas, the weather was the type to force you to breathe into your hands, making them clammy and cold, only to repeat the process a few minutes passing because cold had taken over again.

As your face numbed, your hands cringed, and a shudder of chills was sent down your spine, and all you longed for were warm covers or the sensation of the long-gone summer sun.

Or hot chocolate.

Even just the thought of drinking the delicious hot liquid made your mouth water.

Snapping out of your thoughts, you spotted a dead mercenary on the ground a few feet away from, not really paying attention to the body, but at the two 92FS 9mm at his side. You stumbled over to the body and picked up the pistols, the cold metal freezing your hands.

Turning to Nathan, you handed him one. "Here."

He grabbed the gun from your hand gratefully and you walked to the door on the train near the dead body, opening it. Entering the train, you climbed over the trail, picking up the ammo near your feet.

Nathan tried to open the wooden door, but it wouldn't budge because of the padlock. "Course it's locked," he sighed heavily, "it's always locked."

You shot the padlock off the door and noticed he was having a hard time trying to open the door. You stopped him, placing your hand on his shoulder. "Let me do it. You're just gonna hurt yourself more."

Nathan's wounds were way worse than yours; you just had a terrible headache and minor bruises on your body while he had a gunshot wound in the side.

As you turned the corner, one of Lazarevic's soldiers spotted you. "They're alive!"

You ducked as a bullet flew past you. Nathan quickly dodged another bullet and shot the guard in the leg. Upon shooting him, another train carriage exploded, sending the guard's body slamming against another train.

"Karma's a bitch," Nathan muttered.

You sighed and entered the train. It wasn't like you had a choice. It was either kill or be killed. Shaking your head at his comment, you continued moving forward, picking up the ammo the deceased soldier had.
