When they entered the Great Hall for breakfast the next day, the first thing they spotted was Draco Malfoy, who seemed to be entertaining a large group of Slytherins with a very funny story. As they passed, Malfoy did a ridiculous impression of a swooning fit and there was a roar of laughter. Dan sat at the opposite end of the table, glaring up at Malfoy and shaking his head in disgust as he chatted animatedly to his friends.

"Ignore him." Jess muttered confidently as she strolled to the Gryffindor table, aiming her words at a very disgruntled Harry. "He's not worth it."
"Hey Potter! Potter! The dementors are coming, Potter!" Pansy Parkinson grinned, revelling in the laughter she received from the other Slytherins. "Hey Parkinson! The dog catchers are coming! Better run!" Alyssa teased, and pansy huffed, her pug like face forming into one of disgust.

"New third year timetables!" George mumbled as he passed one to Jess, who grinned up at him. Despite his apparent ignoring her, he couldn't help but smile back. "What's up with you, Harry?"
"Malfoy." Ron responded as he sat down on George's other side, glaring over at the Slytherins. George glanced up in time to see Malfoy pretending to faint with terror again. "That little git." He muttered calmly. "He wasn't so cocky last night when the Dementors were down our end of the train. Came running into our compartment right before we left to go and find Jess, didn't he, Fred?"

"Nearly wet himself." Fred grinned with a contemptuous glance at Malfoy. "I wasn't too happy myself. They're horrible things, those Dementors." George said. "Sort of freeze your insides, don't they?" Fred continued.
"You didn't pass out though, did you?" Harry mumbled glumly, stabbing a piece of toast with his fork. "Don't worry about it, Harry. Dad had to go out to Azkaban one time, remember, Fred? And he said it was the worst place he'd ever been. He came back all weak and shaking. They suck the happiness out of a place, Dementors. Most of the prisoners go mad in there."

"Anyway, we'll see how happy Malfoy looks after our first Quidditch match. Gryffindor versus Slytherin, first game of the season. Remember?" Ron grinned as he nudged Harry's arm, but Harry's attention wasn't on him. It was on the boy who had just came up behind Alyssa. She turned and found herself facing a tall, rather muscly sixth year boy, with windswept brown hair and glassy green eyes. He was good looking, she admitted, but not her type. He was wearing Ravenclaw robes. "Hey, Alyssa, can I talk to you real quick? Outside?" He asked, his voice was gravelly and low. Harry stiffened and gripped his fork tighter.

"Um, sure, Brad." Alyssa nodded, standing up and ignoring the raised eyebrows she got from Jess and Millie. She left the hall, not before glancing back and seeing both Harry and Seamus tensed up and glaring. "What's up?" She asked as soon as they were in the Entrance Hall. "Well, as you know, our seeker left last year and we've been looking for a replacement." Brad was captain of the Ravenclaw team, and it was true that the seeker had graduated last year, leaving the team without its key player. "Okay?" She asked, raising a slender eyebrow at him. "Well, I was hoping that you'd be interested. What do you say?"

"Have you ever even seen me fly?"
"I can spot a good flyer when I have to. You totally have the built for it, and I've seen you at the matches. You always keep your eyes trained on the snitch even when it seems impossible. I've had my eye on your for quite some time now, Spinner, and I think you have what it takes. So what do you say?"
Alyssa thought about it for a moment before smirking and nodding. "Alrighty, you got yourself a deal. Am I allowed to tell anyone?"
"Nah, it'll be our secret. I want it to be a surprise for the match. Plus, there's about ten others from our house wanting the same position, and I don't want you winding up in a sticky situation before you get a chance on the field."

"Perfect. So, when's training?" She grinned. Excitement was unfurling in her chest at a rapid rate. "How about every two days? I want you nice and prepared. You'll have to sneak out, though."
"That's fine." Alyssa shrugged. She was about to make her way back into the hall and opened the door when Brad stopped her. "Thank you, Alyssa. The team'd be a right mess without a seeker." Alyssa smirked and reached up to hug him quickly, aware of the eyes of her friends on her back. "I should be thanking you." She grinned. They began to make their way towards the Gryffindor table, and when Alyssa was within earshot of her friends, she turned around and smiled up at him. "See you tonight, how does 8 sound?"
"See you tonight."
