Jess let out a strangled noise of shock as Black and Ian leapt to their feet, spinning around the face Snape with identical expressions of shock and hatred. Alyssa and Millie immediately reached for eachother as Hermione screamed. Harry and Ron both jumped as if they received electric shocks.

"I found this at the base of the Whomping Willow." Snape sneered, holding up Harry's Invisibility Cloak and smirking before throwing it aside, careful to keep his wand at Lupin's chest. "Very useful, Potter, I thank you."

"Remind me to wash that before you use it again, Harry." Alyssa snarled, eyes narrowed as she glared at her potions Professor. Ian let out a snort of amusement, and Snape jerked as his wand fell upon him instead. He was slightly breathless, but his pale face was full of suppressed triumph.

"You're wondering, perhaps, how I knew you were here?" He asked rhetorically, eyes glittering. "I've just been to your office, Lupin. You forgot to take your Potion tonight, so I took a gobletful along. And very lucky I did - lucky for me, that is. Lying on your desk was a certain map. One glance at it told me all I needed to know. I saw you and Spinner running along this passageway out of sight."

"Severus-" Lupin began, but Snape's wand turned on him.

"I've told the Headmaster again and again that you've been helping your old friend Black into the castle, Lupin, and here's the proof. And now I can prove that Spinner was in on it as well, a little reunion, how touching. Not even I, however, dreamed you would have the nerve to use this old place as your hideout-"

"Snape, just put the wand down and listen, for God's sake -" Ian snapped.

"Dad." Alyssa chimed in, tone full of warning as she slowly pulled her own wand from her belt.

"He's right, Severus, you're making a mistake." Lupin said urgently. "You haven't heard everything - I can explain - Sirius isn't here to kill Harry and Jess -"

"Three more for Azkaban tonight." Snape grinned maliciously, a rather terrifying sight indeed, his eyes now gleaming frantically. Alyssa sucked in a breath, and Harry edged closer to her, placing a hand on her forearm. "I shall be interested to see how Dumbledore takes this... he was quite convinced you were harmless, you know, Lupin... a tame werewolf..."

"You fool." Lupin said softly as Ian sucked in a breath. "Is a schoolboy grudge worth putting innocent men inside Azkaban?"

BANG.

There was a crack like a gunshot as thin, snake-like cords burst from the end of Snape's wand and twisted themselves around Lupin's mouth, wrists, and ankles; he overbalanced and fell to the floor, unable to move. Ian let out a cry and darted forward, but Snape was quick to perform the same spell on him.

"NO!" Alyssa screamed, but Jess, Millie, and Harry held her back as she stared at her father with horror. With a roar of rage, Black started towards Snape, but the professor pointed his wand right between Black's eyes.
